Burton DeWitt @bsd987
Nathan Aspinall is now provisionally the #12 seed in Blackpool, and Darren Webster and Jonny Clayton's spots in the Matchplay are now legitimately under threat.

You clearly don't believe Cullen will win a Euro Tour event lol

At this point it's a wonder if Cullen will win a fully broadcast event of any kind.

Lots of players on the periphery of the cut-off having a decent enough weekend. Barney all of a sudden is actually on the right page, though he's still well up against it

Vinny somehow remaining in the frame for qualifying for these. Bad Players Championship weekend for Clemens after it started so well for him on Friday in the Euro qualifiers. Hopp suddenly not out of the woods yet too after he was looking pretty safe for a long time

Yes, Schindler now being ahead of Hopp looks rather queer.

Hope Dimitri does something at his 3 ETs to help make up that 4k. His record in Europe is a monstrosity (not as bad as the Russians).

Removing the Euro Tour winner money will hurt Hopp quite a bit. He's in 2 ET events, seeded in both, hopefully he can make something of that. Would be a shame if he missed out on the Matchplay as he has the game.

Not that keen on Schindler, I think Hopp is the better player by far, especially on stage. Clemens hasn't had too many great stage results either but I think he might challenge Hopp for the no.1 German spot soon enough. Very solid on the tour and qualified for 3/4 ETs in the European field.

Hopp had had his time with the favorable system to the HNQ . He is capable of winning thru the euro system in place. In the long run think he will be a better player for it. The rest of that HNQ not convinced they have what Hopp has, something about schindi over the head throw sets me off Clemens looks the better prospect in the long run to me.

Though in fairness to Hopp because of his ET4 win last year (and of course the floor win in Dublin) he's not been in the German qualifiers for a while now. Wouldn't be surprised if the PDC changed the qualifying system in light of Hopp's success last year, trusting that Hopp at least can come through the Euro qualifiers on a regular basis. That win in Germany last year distorted his ProTour ranking a little, where he is now is probably more realistic, though skipping a few floor events and the first few Euro Tours may massively harm him in the end. He 'should' have had about 4 Euro Tour events where he's just one win from £3k but now he'll only have two until he'll probably have to go to the qualifiers

Schindler is an odd one, completely forgot he was so far up there. You'd have to say he's been helped massively by being German as his form on TV and on the floor isn't exactly outstanding. He got to a lot of ET events last year (though not as many as you'd perhaps think), and generally wins a game or two at each event without threatening to go on a long run. I don't know if he will prove to be better than Hopp, but for now at least he's certainly at an earlier stage in his development. Good for him that he has a small cushion for this, he's gonna need it you'd think

Thanks to Burton.

Burton DeWitt @bsd987
Ross Smith provisionally moves into the World Matchplay field, with Mervyn King and Vincent van der Voort lying just outside the field.

Bit of a bunfight at the moment! Long way to go, but a lot of new names, even some of last year's new names aren't in at the moment. Getting very competitive this PDC lark

Mervyn King, Keegan Brown, and Stephen Bunting all move into the provisional Matchplay qualification spots, knocking out Steve West, Chris Dobey, and Ross Smith. Minimum money already added to ETs 3-4 qualifiers.

That should be Ricky Evans there already, even if he doesn't pick up another dart until July, Ratajski surely only needs one more half-decent run now. Not sad at seeing West provisionally knocked out, completely forgot about him this season. Dobey and Clemens fell away a bit this weekend, but they're both qualified for ET 3/4 so have a big chance to get right up in the reckoning. Squeaky bum time for Gabriel's countrymen though!

I've got no problem with Hopp whatsoever but I'd kinda like to see him punished for missing all those tour events

How long is he seeded for? Won ET4 last year so while he won't have to qualify for events quite yet, it surely is coming. They said on comms that he simply forgot to enter which is moronic if true
