I mean isn't it just easier to lose on purpose than to make up a game that didn't exist?

Unbelievably light sentence when you consider the fixed result put one of them through to the knockout phase.

VERY fortunate, imagine if Gerwyn Price did that lol
Robbie Green has claimed on Fanatics that he heard the manager of two players who were drawn against each other fixing a result. I'm sure the DRA would be interested to know why he never reported this.

Agents represent multiple players in football and they can also represent the club

So why didn't Jobbie Green report it.

I think the DRA will be paying him a visit

Hardest part to believe is that Robbie Green slipped in somewhere without being seen.

Must be referring to the 2016 Matchplay where he got the last spot.

Assuming this was the last Qualifying event. Can anyone with better knowledge of managers than me spot anything?

It's one of those things, as darts is being taken more and more seriously and becoming very lucrative, the door is open for things like this, and I don't think the powers that be have really had to think about it. In many cases it will be impossible to prove as well, especially on the floor where you pretty much don't know who you're playing until you actually toe the oche.

Very odd what happened in Australia though where the game is pretty much a pastime for these two guys. Obviously they should have been given lengthy bans, and fair enough they're not exactly raking it in so I get not fining them too heavily, but as has been suggested this is veering dangerously close to some serious stuff here

Checking who just missed qualifying for the 2016 Matchplay, and using Kong's criteria of losing the next match, the only possible matches are:

Jamie Lewis 6 V 1 Andy Smith
Kevin Painter 6 V 5 Aden Kirk
Cristo Reyes 6 V 2 Mensur Suljovic

Assuming I am right about the day, and stressing I am not throwing accusations around, 1 match there does seem to stick out.

I think I recall Green having a decent run to get himself into the Matchplay 2 years ago, this tournament seems to match that.

This is quite bad if you are correct.

17 £19,250 Robbie Green (1000)
18 £19,000 Andrew Gilding (3000)
19 £18,750 Max Hopp (500) better countback than Rodriguez

This was the Pro Tour OoM going into the last qualifying event for the 2016 Matchplay. My guess he's talking about Painter who beat Aden Kirk then lost to Jason Marriott in that event.

How far was Reyes exactly from qualifying for the event? Green says the player in question needed 1 more win but Reyes doesn't even appear amongst the names bojeru just posted

Sorry, didn't really think about Reyes.
Must reach the final of PC11 (£6,000)
23 £17,750 Ricky Evans (500)
24 £17,500 Cristo Reyes (1500)
25 £17,500 John Henderson (1000)
26 £16,500 Jermaine Wattimena (1500)
27 £16,500 Chris Dobey (0)
28 £16,000 Darren Webster (0)
29 £16,000 Steve West (0)
30 £15,000 David Pallett (0)

Must win PC11 (£10,000)
31 £14,500 Jonny Clayton (0)
32 £14,000 Joe Murnan (1000)
33 £14,000 Christian Kist (1000)
34 £13,500 James Wilson (500)
35 £13,500 Ronny Huybrechts (0)
36 £12,250 Wayne Jones (500)
37 £12,250 Andy Hamilton (500)
38 £11,250 Darren Johnson (500)
He needed to reach the final and he got to the semis after the Mensur game where he lost to Cullen. Didn't really cross my mind that they would have the same management.

Guess it makes more sense than Painter

So after the Mensur game Reyes needed 1 more win indeed. Well that's really disappointing. Don't see why Green would make up stories about an event that happened 2 years ago.

The only thing that isn't correct from Green's story is that Mensur and Reyes didn't have the same manager at that time. Reyes was (and still is) with ZWA (MvG, VvdV, Alcinas etc.) and Mensur was (he changed managers for the 2019 season) with TMSC (Huybrechts, Dimitri, Klaasen etc.)

"PDC leaves itself wide open" seems pretty hyperbolic - isn't the whole point of the PDPA/DRA agent accreditation that it gives them an avenue to sanction such shenanigans if discovered? Of course, it would help if affected players were to report such things...

Wasn't the DRA set up by the PDC to begin with? I always have felt their independence is suspect.
