Are we thinking that the 32 'other' spots at Ally Pally will be allocated the same way as last year?

I don't see why the Ally Pally spots won't be allocated in the same way this year, the only thing is who knows if 5th place on the Asian Tour OoM will qualify due to Asada/Muramatsu qualifying by both this and the Japanese qualifier

The top 4 + Ilagan are more than capable of winning a couple of rounds at the World Championship.

Top 4 on this tour are capable of getting some luck like Kirk Shepherd, or that Ryan Joyce. The top 4 players on the Asia tour are right about middle of the pack standard wise relative to the the tour card holders. Would you think any of those players like kist, webby, north, Edgar etc had a real chance of winning a couple rounds?

Alot of people over rating the players on this tour.

Asada is certainly good enough to win a couple of rounds, maybe Lim as well. The others probably fall a little short. Still, overall I'd say all of them played decent at Ally Pally the last time out so it's great to have 4/5 Asian players.

Underway in the Philippines, a full house of big names, including Mikuru Suzuki who missed the last weekend, and Nitin Kumar, who makes his first appearance on the Asian Tour this year. Paul Lim is the early casualty, losing to one Robert Calupit with a sub-80 average

Dartconnect fucked up, but we're at the quarters now, Malicdem vs Morris, Leung vs Villamor, Teng Lieh Pu Po vs Perez and Asada vs Ilagan

Last weekend before the World Cup cut-off, the Japan and Hong Kong teams pick themselves really, but the race to see who will represent the Philippines is hotting up, Malicdem and Christian Perez are tied at the moment, entered today on $900 each. Harith Lim will presumably team up with Paul, though he hasn't cashed on this tour this year yet

Ilagan was on $2,000 going into today but he lost his quarter final to Asada, could he be dragged into a scrap I wonder?

Malicdem-Villamor and Teng Lieh Pu Po-Asada in the semis, Ilagan can breathe a little easier. Draw opening up for Malicdem, great chance to reach a first final of the year

Malicdem denies a first Taiwanese victory with a 5-2 win, pushing himself into the top 4 and essentially guaranteeing himself a World Cup spot. Between Perez and Ilagan now you'd think, Perez needs a final at the very least to get into the Filipino team

Malicdem has cashed today so that's him guaranteed a spot at the World Cup now

Ilagan beats Yamada 5-3 in the final. Looks like their World Cup pairing is their two World Championship representatives.

Well that's good, Ilagan is a proper player, definitely want him at the Worlds. Nobody will want the Filipinos at the World Cup!
