First weekend starts early tomorrow UK time from Korea. All of last season's top 5 will be there but a few big names are absent:

100 AVERAGE KLAXON:
Malicdem throws 75 darts in a 5-0 win in his second game. No 9-darter from him though...yet!

A few surprises in there, 5 or 6 of that group are familiar to me (not sure if Christian Perez is the guy who was at the Worlds a few times)

So yeah, that apparently was that good ol' Christian Perez. Prince Shek is also known as Ho-Shin, formerly of the Hong Kong World Cup team last year

Paul Lim vs Royden Lam in the first final of the year. Methinks there'll be more finals to come for these two

Re: 2019 Asian Tour
Lam wins the first final of the year, 5-4 in an absolute cracker, 98 average for Lam, 105 for Lim! Went 3-0 up on Lim but then Lim came roaring back, was on a 9 darter at one stage and even missed 77 for the match, until Lam finished with a flourish on 101 to win the match

Re: 2019 Asian Tour
headline: "No Flim-Flam from Lim-Lam."
some serious throwing in the finals there.
both averaged in the 90's, overall, in the tournament.
these first six tournies will help decide who gets into the world cup.
would be nice if Korea gets an invite this year.

Re: 2019 Asian Tour
108.9 average from Lim just now! Safely through to the last 16, AFAIK, the only big name eliminated so far is Malicdem, who lost to Leung Kai Fan (Kevin)

Paul Lim survives match darts from fellow Lakeside legend Mikuru Suzuki on the way to the semis where he faces Ilagan. Leung up against Higuchi in the other semi

Re: 2019 Asian Tour
Against Leung, who he beat along the way to the final yesterday too. Also beat him at the 2018 Worlds, Kev must be sick of the sight of the old legend!

Re: 2019 Asian Tour
there's a special kind of "in the zone" that is relatively rare in darts.
I've seen raymond van barneveld do it.
I've seen mensur suljovic do it.
somebody else did it not too long ago. the name evades me, though I remember the comm mentioning this unique stat.
anywho, mikuru suzuki just did it (against paul lim)
she had disproportionately more high turn scores of 140 or better (11) than she did of scores between 100-139 (4)
and for that she gets one of my "how about that?" awards.

Wow this is something:
https://members.dartconnect.com/history ... 61e2670318
34 avg
consecutive visits of 3, 7 and 14
shame they don't show avgs fro Romanian Darts Open
but it surely is not so bad in Romania as this:
https://members.dartconnect.com/history ... 61e26703bc
38 vs 37 avgs
