Hello,
I'm wondering about Seeded players in Euro Tour.
last year, Mervyn King, Steve West, Steve Beaton and James Wilson received 2.000 for their first match in a Euro event whereas they were beaten in last 32.
I thought you got nothing when you are in the top 16 players in these events.
How does it work ?

Re: Euro OOM
Hi! They receive the money, but it doesn't go on their rankings (unless they originally came through the qualifiers and then were upgraded to the seeds if a seeded player pulls out). Similar rules apply if an opponent pulls out mid-tournament and you get a bye, unless you win the next game, you only get the money for reaching the initial round rather than the round you end up in if that makes sense

Re: Euro OOM
Thanks for answering.
Sorry, I still don't get it.
For instance, Mervyn King (15) lost 6-0 to Martin Schindler in last 32 in the last Euro Event.
It was his very first match there & he was granted 2.000 in the OOM.
The others players mentionned were ranked #16 when they also received 2.000.
Did a ranked player pull out or something ?

Re: Euro OOM
The rule doesn't apply if you were only seeded because someone pulled out. If a top 16 seed pulls out, the best ranked qualifier gets his seeding position. So then they would obviously get to keep the money on their rankingstchobello wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 8:41 pm Thanks for answering.

Re: Euro OOM
Mervyn King & Stephen Bunting did qualify and replaced Mensur Suljovic & Adrian Lewis.
I got the explanation.
Thanks thethorn & thegentle
