2011 all declined I believe
2012 The count scooped up his the rest declined
2013 not a one took the offer
2014 Bunting scooped one up the rest chicken shit
2015 no more fucking freebies
Bunting was announced after the cheque was cleared. The BDO contract was illegal as it was a restriction of trade, Hankey tested that water and won

Yeah, the open offer was already gone in 2014.

I personally think the winner of the BDO worlds should be given a PDC tour card (should they want it)

Free entry to Q School would be an appropriate reward these days. (Might rival the BDO worlds prize money in value next year anyway.)

Was Waites offered a tour card when he won the Grand slam??

Might as well bump this now. CTs 1 to 4 next week, probably the most significant CT weekend ever.

Yep, a good start can see you get on the tour for half the season, a great start can basically give you a de facto 1 year TC. Who knows, we could see a Ratajski or a Barnard yet, keep your heads up lads!

Is a lot of speculation about that and Tour Cards weren't about at the time. My belief is Waites was offered a place in the PDC but turned it down. Probably the worst decision he made before deciding to go to Q School!

The PDC did offer tour cards to Lakeside semi finalists from 2011-2014, but the BDO obviously did everything in their power to prevent those players from leaving. In 2012, remember the shenanigans at Lakeside before Hankey's semi final against Kist, where Hankey spent a lot of time sorting things out and demanding that he don't sign a contract committing to 2013 Lakeside?

So with Bunting in 2014, it was kept completely quiet, until the £100,000 money was in Bunting's bank account.

I agree that today the ship has sailed in terms of offering Lakeside players a tour card.

The PDC tour card system began in January 2011, so 2 months after Scott Waites won the Grand Slam of Darts. I reckon the PDC back then would have given Waites a card had he asked for it, without Q School. The first high profile BDO player to switch to the PDC via Q School was Dave Chisnall.

Just a thought, who out of the 128 tour card holders would be most likely to skip events? I guess it'll mostly be the top players if they fancy a break, that main group of players regularly absent from events in the last two years are pretty much all gone now, replaced by players who definitely take it a lot more seriously. Even Barney I think is more likely to play on the tour than last year

Cadby if he doesn't get his VISA sorted.

Good point. Some of the back benchers like Dootson might stop trying halfway through the season if they continue to do badly and aren't getting anywhere near keeping their card, but for the early part of the season there really aren't many that look likely to skip a lot. Maybe Kantele among the new card winners, he's not exactly been a big traveller in the past.

Williams hasn't entered the first CT weekend. So that's basically it for him this year, the first weekend is way too crucial to miss. Ashton, Lorraine and Sherrock on the list as well as Waites

I'm not that surprised honestly, the CT being only 5 weekends a year doesn't take that much of a commitment. I can see why he would rather go to Wigan than to travel to fucking Romania for a meaningless open. I think if it was the Dutch Open or some of the bigger British ones he might give the CT a miss. Also could depend on how he'll be in the rankings I guess.

I don't see why Williams wouldn't enter. A player of his quality could well get a tour card on the CT rankings, in fairness he barely missed out at Q-School. Durrant has said Jim has made his decision, if that was it then it's a fucking stupid one. Guess he aims at 3 piss pot titles then.

Also if anyone knows of a full entry list, do tell. Would like to know if some other ladies or Q-School failures have entered as well.
