The Thorn wrote: Tue Jan 29, 2019 10:15 am I had fuck all clue this is on. Seems a meaningless event to me, really should do something with the Masters next year. It's been a few weeks without pwoper darts all right, but I'm not sure this is what will bring my appetite back. I mean, most of the 1st round games look pretty good, it's just that I'm not sure I care about this tournament at all. SImilar to the PL, only the fact the action promises to be good isn't always enough
I am looking forward to the return of pwoper darts, I will be following it (though not watching live at unholy hours), but yeah, in and of itself it's meaningless. Like the World Series, I'll be interested as long as there are names we don't see win stuff all the time, I'd love to see Smith finally win a 'major', but if it's another MvG procession then it will be quickly forgotten

Gando pulls out due to his back injury. Bunting replaces him.

Well, one less player out of a pretty small list that you'd think could realistically beat MvG, but good for Bunting. I'm sure he'll be up for it a lot more than Gando, and him against Webster should be a good game. What does this mean for Gando's Premier League campaign then?

That was the 2017 Worlds I believe. Bunting hasn't won a game at Ally Pally since, it's remarkable how many players have a great first Worlds only to bomb forever more. They've met a few times on TV though, for example Webby edged past him in round 1 of the Euros last year, 99-97 in the averages, so a good standard indeed

Warning, even. Surely won't pull the same stunt in the PL.

Pleased for Bunting getting another chance on TV having been battered by Humphries, but it weakens that top half further.
