Not the most thrilling first round in all truth.
Noppie v cross probably the pick.
Please let Whitlock show up.
Interesting to see how Nicholson goes.

Cross-quoting from the WSOD thread:
Rogg wrote:Did you carry on keeping count of the different players to average 95+ on the Euro stage this year? :D must have ended somewhere close to 60 I'd imagine.
I have finally got around to completing the list, and out of 158 Euro Tour competitors in 2018, 73 recorded 95+ averages on the Euro Tour stage from the world #1 to the world #160. So basically half and proving that a 95+ average on a stage is nothing special whatsoever.

The original post (which can be found here and all came about as a result of two idiots on the World Trophy commentary getting hard over BDO players averaging above 95) was never updated after ET6. So here's the complete list with ET7 to ET13 included.

First occurrence only, OoM rankings as of today:

ET1
1. Vincent van der Voort (36)

15. Alan Norris (23)
16. Simon Whitlock (8)
17. Ron Meulenkamp (46)

Thanks for doing the legwork!

So, out of the top 40 the only ones to be missing are Anderson who didn't play any, van Barneveld who didn't qualify in his few attempts, plus van de Pas, Pipe and Dolan. Pas and Pipe are no surprise at all, and for Dolan it's a nice bit of supporting evidence for why he's made zero headway towards a top 32 return, being stuck barely inside the top 40 since last year instead. (Arguably the same goes for Mark Webster just outside the 40. Doesn't help that he only qualified for one ET this year, Dolan at least had four.)

The most noteworthy absence might be de Zwaan.

I fully expect Webster to be in danger of losing his tour card next year, it's been a long decline for him, he managed to stave off dropping out of the top 32 for a long time, but now I fear he's pretty much done as a player. It's a shame, because I always liked him, and he's not even that old. Dolan may not threaten to make it back into the top 32 or make the Matchplay/Grand Prix these days, but he'll stick around for a while I feel, even in his decline he's been OK these last two years.

De Zwaan is a bit of an enigma...seems to take well to the stage and the floor, but not the European Tour. He's been just about good enough to make it to the Matchplay and Grand Prix this year, but he really does need to improve his form on the European Tour, with the prizes on offer, a good run in just one event can set you up so well for the season, just ask Lennon or Hopp
