Re: PDC Grand Sham of Darts 2018, Nov 10-18
Bit like Hankey can play at a good level, but very slow retrieving darts from the board.. Old school gamesmanship. Hankey was more talented though.
You'd think Mitchell has the talent to be top 32 in the PDC and make some good money. Maybe be in the top 16 for a while, but not for a long period of time..

Hankey was never consistent but had a better a game, Mitchell more consistent I'd say.
Neither were ever good enough to be top 16 pdc.

Is Hankey any less talented than say Chizzy, Whitlock or Webby? All been in the top 16 and top 10 of the PDC rankings..Randall wrote:Hankey was never consistent but had a better a game, Mitchell more consistent I'd say.

Only ever threw on a tv stage once a year as he never had the bollocks to switch so no way to make a judgement comparing them really.Wolflanternbumbag wrote:Is Hankey any less talented than say Chizzy, Whitlock or Webby? Switched too late, was never dedicated enough really. Likes a drink too much and the social side of it too much. Never looked like he took it seriously enough or dedicated enough to be a professional darts player..Randall wrote:Only ever threw on a tv stage once a year as he never had the bollocks to switch so no way to make a judgement comparing them really.Wolflanternbumbag wrote:Is Hankey any less talented than say Chizzy, Whitlock or Webby? Nah, Ted was a fine thrower in his day.Randall wrote:Hankey was never consistent but had a better a game, Mitchell more consistent I'd say.

He doesn't deserve to be compared with Mitchell.

But Ted would have probably cracked the PDC top 16 in the 2000s.

Low 90s averages maybe on paper but again who knows what consistency he would ever have had.sennafan24 wrote:True.Randall wrote:Nobody deserves comparing to Mitchellsennafan24 wrote:Nah, Ted was a fine thrower in his day.Randall wrote:Hankey was never consistent but had a better a game, Mitchell more consistent I'd say.

Always interests me the GSOD, I enjoy the tournament.. Same goes for the players championship. I think it's cause of the weather outside (perfect weather to watch darts and it gets dark so early) and it's the business end of the year.

Looks like the 9-darts shootout is pretty much gone. Two-way ties on leg difference now get broken by the head-to-head result, three-way ties by tournament average (!) and legs won against throw. Shootout only in the exceedingly unlikely case that that doesn't separate three players.

One of the more enjoyable elements of the event as well!Zeyes wrote:Looks like the 9-darts shootout is pretty much gone.
