Hopefully he fades into obscurity. Since June I just cannot stand him.

Dimitri could be the new Andy Hamilton... Minus all Hammer's superior achiements.

But he did have a hammer and a world final. Dimitri will never have either of those.

Chizzy could be the new Dimitri if he ever wins the World Matchplay.

Made a final but has since vanished.
Lost 6-0 today averaging 78 to the guy he beat in the youth final last year.
How can someone so good be so bad?
This aged well

Here's a thought, does Dimitri even make the Matchplay if not for the lockdown? Started the season poorly and saw a big cushion gradually get eaten away, and didn't even qualify for ET2-4, yet those tournaments ended up being postponed, he got to spend some quality time with Peter Wright and the rest is history

Clearly he didn't blow the field away MvG style, but apart from the Cullen game where he was a bit dodgy (Cullen must be absolutely devastated at that, he absolutely bollocksed that game up), he played well, and came through some tough tests. A worthy champion

We got used to this and all the other tournaments getting dismantled by a masterclass from start to finish. That it seemed standard was an illusion. It was only ever two all-time freaks doing it. Maybe a couple of others managed it once or twice in all these years.

Everyone else has always had to go to work on the thing like normal people with top attitude, a splash of fortune and plenty of brilliance. Properly normal and wonderful. I'm probably being harsh on Dimitri here if anything. It was a joy.
