I'm not forgetting that, I just believe (similar to cannibal) that the PDC/Hearn goes to ridiculous lengths in that "premium product" attitude. All relevant organisational competition is dead or close to dead now. And let's be honest, they don't actually care about low-level PDC players appearing in streamed tin-pot opens - their actual concern is about private promoters contracting a bunch of big-name players for a PL/WS style exbo and trying to sell that to TV companies. They just can't be arsed to limit the language in their players contract to that actual issue, so they have the exclusivity rule written as expansively as possible.
Anyway, there would be tons of ways to rewrite the streaming/TV restrictions in a more sensible manner. A few possibilities just off the top of my head:
- no tournaments that aren't sanctioned by a recognized body (i.e. events with WDF or national org ranking points are okay)
- no tournaments with fewer than 32 players (to prevent the exbo-style events)
- no tournaments that clash with PDC tournaments that the player is eligible for
etc. etc.
