Here we have a statement about Lakeside from Uncle Des. He says that "all negatives will be addressed, in particular the ladies prize monies and their current playing format"

Also about the production: "the future collaboration between the BDO and Input Media is quite frankly a ‘no brainer'"

Fucking hell.

Oche currently arguing elsewhere that, coincidentally, the only sessions that had rows and rows or empty seats were the two midweek sessions he was there.

Oh dear.

...of 20 years ago. Maybe the Scania Open is coming back.

Why open the door for your best World Professionals to leave and then tease a #NewEra? Bizarre stuff.

Let's see:

- The standard of this year's Lakeside was the worst since 2013 (before they changed the boards)

- Lakeside's ticket sales were almost certainly down on last year. And that was with them giving away a ton of tickets for free.

- They potentially have just lost their three best players to the PDC. And two out of the three of their best up and comers.

- The Lakeside final was probably the least viewed of this century.

God bless them.

"I can assure you all that all negatives will be addressed, in particular the ladies prize monies and their current playing format"

Good news for Paul Nicholson. It gives him more time to fit in another couple of wanks while he commentates on the munters throwing their 65 averages for 7 sets.

But don't you know they're winning their legs in the same number of visits as the PDC players? Concrete proof that all is well in BDOland.

PDC Final viewing figures:

Sky Sports Main Event = 376,400
Sky Sports Darts = 281,900

TOTAL = 658,300

Lakeside final = 372,200

The PDC final total must be the lowest for a few years. Still had more viewers than a Freeview channel, mind.

That UK figure for the PDC final is actually higher than it was for the 2017 MVG-Anderson final (607,000) according to wiki.

Cable, subscription channels figures have to be viewed in light of number of households reached. Unless the growth is constant then a year to year comparison isn't telling one very much of value.

Is that total number of people who watched, or the average number of people tuning in at any given time? Wiki gives a figure of nearly 3 million for last year, seems a sharp fall
