First weekend now out.

Saturday aft: Less than 155,700 on Quest, 67,500 on Eurosport
Saturday eve: 88,000 on Eurosport
Sunday aft: 205,000 on Quest, 100,600 on Eurosport
Sunday eve: Less than 155,700 on Quest, 91,700 on Eurosport

The darts only appears once in the top 15 programmes on Quest (the Sunday afternoon), so the other two sessions will be less than 155,700 as that is what the 15th ranked programme got. No way of knowing the figure

Would those numbers be considered success of failure? Guess a previous year comparison may be helpful

I can't offer that. The only programme that charted on Channel 4 in their weekly top 30 was the final.

I could only find the figures for the Semi-Final and Final last year.

They did between 900k and 1.1 million respectively on CH4. I don't expect them to get those figures this year for those sessions. But we shall see.

Yeah, I believe that's right. Looks decent enough for Eurosport, I don't think they get that much programming that clears the 100k mark. The Quest numbers aren't great IMHO...expensive live broadcast charting on par with (or worse than) random Salvage Hunters episodes?

I don't recall the original news about the contract - was FTA coverage expected for all three tournaments or just the Lakeside? Would seem madness to put the Masters and World Trophy on Quest.

Well they put snooker sessions on Quest but usually just the daytime ones as well as the final.

Was trying to locate the PDC figures for the last week and a bit but seems to be an issue with the figures, a lot of days not recorded. Will wait for them to catch up.

According to the Eurosport press release, all three: http://corporate.eurosport.com/news-detail/?id=7003
BDO events to be screened in the UK (plus Quest TV), Netherlands and Australia in 2019:
5-13 January 2019: BDO Lakeside World Professional Darts Championships
31 August-1 September 2019: BDO World Darts Trophy
25-27 October 2019: Winmau World Masters
Viewing figures will be through the floor.
2020 World Grand Prix Lucky Dip winner!
2x 2019 Q-School Lucky Dip winner!

Both as valuable as the Lakeside piss pot!

The thing is that snooker has some mainstream appeal even during lesser tournaments, while there's no evidence that the public at large still cares about the Masters or ever cared about the Trophy. A ton of people won't even know there are televised BDO tournaments at any other point of the year than January.

One thing that'll be interesting to observe is whether the same production company will get contracted for the Trophy and Masters, or if it reverts to a 247-style cheapo production. Was some outfit named Input Media for the broadcasts just gone: https://www.inputmedia.tv/
