Don't worry Randall, Chizzy will still win at least 7. In my view, at his best he is better than Anderson and Ando managed to overcome his double-trouble to go on for greater things.

Sadly Chizzy has floor in his action and under pressure the cracks start to show. With Anderson his action looks pretty smooth it was purely psychological when it came to the doubles!

not much more than a rehash of what's been said...

already set in stone

van gerwen
Cross
Wright
Anderson

the cement is being poured and raked

Gurney
Price
Wade

crazy not to?

van barneveld
suljovic
M Smith

there's ten.

Still not convinced that Sully will be in though.
what if, at the last minute, the family dog eats his permission slip?
Whitlock perhaps?
someone else winning the worlds?

Tough on Whitlock missing out after a very consistent year but he ain't beating Barney in a popularity contest

Whitlock wouldn't beat Ian Huntley in a popularity contest.

Now that the PDC regard piddly World Series events as TV tournaments, I reckon they'll make a big deal that everyone selected for the 2019 Premier League won a tv tournament in 2018. It'll takes some of the heat off including Barney in it if they use that as the reason.

MVG (Masters, Premier League, Grand Prix)
Anderson (UK, Matchplay, Champs League, US Masters)
Cross (Worlds, Brisbane)
Wright (Melbourne)
Smith (Shanghai)
Suljovic (German)
Price (Grand Slam)
Gurney (Players)
Wade (World Series, European)
Barney (World Cup)

Or just a way for him to put some pressure on the decision makers by making it look like it ought to be a foregone conclusion.

Could be Price wont be in for his antics the other week, or Suljovic is back under the thumb again at home and doesnt want in.

Price 100% in I think. If anything those shenanigans will generate more interest in the PL.

Mensur maybe refusing the invite was another thought I had. It would certainly make things a lot easier for the PDC and not like losing Mensur would be a huge blow to the PL. But they can't leave him out on merit so it would come in handy if he didn't want to play.

As for the others, no way they would leave Smith/Wade/Gurney out just to pick Whitlock. Those 3 are more watchable, more deserving and more likely to put up a decent fight

Surely they will keep a slot or two open in case someone unforeseen wins the worlds or makes the final. For example, if Adi Lewis made the final; I doubt they would exclude him at Whitlock's expense.

For now, I think the following are in:

MVG
Gando
Cross
Wright
Wade
Price
Gurney
Smith
Mensur
Whitlock

Which is the actual top 10 in the OOM. I don't think Wade, Whitlock, Smith and Mensur are nailed on though. Mensur may pass up the invite. And the other three might be sacrificed for someone who has a good run at the worlds. Or god forbid, Barney.

If they really, really want to do something for Barney, cant they just wheel him out on the two Rotterdam nights to play an exbo game against two randomers?

Aye, that would be ideal.

Bring back Taylor for one of those games, I'm sure he'd be up for it. For the other game have someone who just missed out on the PL, or some Dutch guy like VVDV perhaps? Or MVG if he doesn't mind playing twice on the night

That would be the perfect solution but I still think he's going to be in the PL.

whitlock is a good self-promoter.
