Course they could. Quarter finals, semi finals, final = 7 games.

Play them weeks 10-16 when the main event goes down to 4 games a week anyway.

Fine talents for sure, but definitely not as exciting as this year's batch, think they'd be overdoing it if they brought out the Contenders again. In theory the idea of a Premier League play-off to decide who gets in next year is good but it would be mental to have it so early in the year

Evans is decent enough I guess. Don't really care about the rest. Brown is a prick and has never done anything of note. Wattimena I don't think will ever be a top player with that action. Payne has potential but at the moment he's nowhere near the contenders we've seen this year.

The contender only came about because Gando pulled out. The sensible way forward is to get confirmations from all before making the announcement. Sure something could happen to fuck it up but would be unlikely

Uncle Barrington on the possibility of running a Contender series within the Premier League.

‘The contenders gave eight youngsters, or relative youngsters I know John Henderson isn’t a youngster, to show their wares and I think it ended up being one of the better ideas we’ve ever had,’ said Hearn.

‘It will be on the agenda of the next PDC board meeting and I’m pretty sure it will be unanimously accepted again.

‘There’s a school of thought, a possibility that the first section of the Premier League, we’ll do the contenders, and the second section those contenders play-off among themselves as a contender series within the Premier League, with the winner getting a Premier League spot.’

I guess MvG, Gary, Rob, Dufus, Barney, Smith and Gurney will be in for sure....

Mensur deserves a second chance too....

Let's say that for the moment the likes of Cadby, Chizzy, Wade, Price, Whitlock, Jackpot and White have to fight for the remaining two places....

As till now I guess Wade and Cadby will get the nod...
