The 2018 BDO World Darts Catas-Trophy

The British Darts Organisation proudly announce the date and venue for the BDO World Darts Trophy 2018. The BDO have secured the Preston Guild Hall for the 2018 event. The event will be played over five days between Wednesday May 30th - Sunday June 3rd 2018

The qualifies for the men's event will consist of the top 17 players from the BDO Men's Main Invitation Ranking Tables on the cut-off date of 16th April 2018. 4 Qualifiers from the BDO World Trophy 2018 Play Offs to be held during the Welsh Open 2018 Current No1 from each of 9 World Regions tables on 16th of April 2018 if they have already qualified by right then we would go down the main ranking table for a replacement.

Current Lakeside Mens World Champion
Current World Trophy Champion



The qualifies for the Ladies event will consist of the top 11 players from the BDO Ladies Invitation Ranking Tables on the cut-off date of 16th April 2018 2 x Qualifiers from the World Trophy Play Offs to be held during the Welsh Open 2018

Current Winmau Ladies World Masters Champion
Current Lakeside Ladies World Champion
Current Ladies World Trophy Champion

All qualifiers are subject to BDO ELIGIBILITY RULES

So why has the Women's World Master been invited but not the Mens one?

Both are currently eligible for it.

No announcement on TV, prize-money or sponsors. Screams that none of them have been confirmed yet. They may as well announce Winmau now to save them the bother in a few weeks. I suspect them and the Prostate Cancer UK signs will be the only ones on the stage. Is Premier Sports (or whatever its called) the only plausible channel apart from Winmau TV/YouTube?

They have had years to easily acquire more BDO darts and haven't bothered so why would they suddenly bother now?
