He only lost 7 in seven matches on his way to the final.
Jeffrey de Zwaan's Golden Ticket. Seems like only yesterday ffs.

He beat van Duijvenbode in that Euro QS final on Day 1. Some Cadbyesque card grab and now he's one of the same 8 players all the time. A strange and happy story.

Wonder what Cadby thinks of all this, he was looking even more promising earlier on in the season

He'd surely be back over in the UK if he didn't have a criminal record.

Great stat from Burton regarding the Q-School Class of 2018:

"Four quarter-finalists at the UK Open and Matchplay combined played in Q School this year (Cadby, Pallett, Owen, de Zwaan). From 2012 to 2017, there were only 3 in all ranking majors combined (Alan Norris 2016 Worlds, Devon Petersen 2015 UK Open, Ronny Huybrechts 2013 Euros)."

Even the names are more attractive this year, let alone the achievements.
2020 World Grand Prix Lucky Dip winner!
2x 2019 Q-School Lucky Dip winner!

Can you elaborate?
He must stay in Australia for 6 months of every year or what?

Cadby has visa problems and that's why he isn't back to the UK yet. Probably his criminal record is the reason for him not getting a visa. Of course this is a rumour as his management won't admit it, but most likely this is the case.

Thanks but I read this earlier, it's an old article, thought he made some community service (or whatever it is called, when you clean the streets ;)) and that this was over.

Smith-Neale is there too, come on Adam.

Bump. Chizzyfan may argue for 2011, but last year surely must be the greatest ever Q-School?

No doubt about that. Aspinall, De Zwaan, Noppert, Joyce, Clemens etc. And the cunt Cadby who we'll never see again.

Even Robert Owen reached the semi-final at the last UK Open, and Pallett, Ratajski and Hughes didn't even win a tour card!

By the numbers 2015 is close, although that year's Q School had much less inspiring names at the top: Boulton, de Zwaan, Green, Norris, O'Connor, Petersen into the top 64 after one year, Dobey, Wattimena and West after two. Van den Bergh was a 2015 guy, too, but his card came from the Youth Tour of course.

And of course so was Aspinall! Failed to keep his after the two years and then failed at Q-School in 2017 (though he'd have a decent year without a tour card), whereas de Zwaan lost his a year later and won it back immediately

3 TV winners so far, two of have come from nowhere this year. I won't say I never saw TV winners from that cohort coming, but I will say I thought those TV winners would be Jeffrey and Cadby rather than Aspinall, Noppy and Smudger Smith!

Dirk there for good measure too, albeit he lost his card after the two years and had to go back to Q-School in 2020

Interesting reading the last few pages back. Joyce being a quite random qualifier from the BDO and it being a surprise he made it over Fitton. If you compared the 2 players abilities nowadays you would just laugh

Good to see a chubby Ross smith 9 darter video at the Gibraltar darts trophy in 2013 too, fuck me the production was bad back in them days

I remember being surprised at Joyce too. Fitton and OShea I would have much preferred to see in the PDC
