It's why Lisa Ashton changed her mind about going.
Cheers.
Didn't know Ashton was considering it. Given how Hughes and Menzies fared, she probably made a wise choice by not going.

I will debate with anybody on here without becoming indignant and self righteous. I certainly never get angry.

Phew!
To think that Noppy's card probably depended on a single leg against an unknown jobber...
A perfect summary of the Q-School problem.
Totally disagree Thorn. Each player gets four chances and an OOM to get a card. There's no such thing as being too good to fail, if they fail they simply aint good enough
Ehhhg well by Day 4 it's started to feel more like a real competition with credible outcomes.
Still feels massively undercooked to me though, as a way of sourcing Pro Tour players.
Uncle Barry will agree with you, not me.
If they can't get through a field full of jobbers with four chances what hope have they on the Pro Tour?
When you actually feel anger over a place like this it's time to get a life

The countback seems a bit weird as the first priority.
Surely it should be leg difference first so it is not biased to players who do well on day 4

I have no plan but many more spots to the Challenge Tour is one thing. An OoM from those 20 events across a year is a good guide of players who are willing and able to join the 128, a more reliable guide than Q-School I'd think.

Absolutely this.
While I couldn't really care how they top up the fodder spots, are we really going to fucking miss anyone who could not get through this after four attempts.

So what actually happens now for the likes of O'Shea, Fitton, Yarp etc, are they not allowed back to the welcoming arms of the Family ?
Are they now barred from BDO events and county shite ?

A few players who made Ally Pally this year failed to get a tour card
Poor quality in the PDC

5-4 Joyce. Here is the only switcher, who gets the tour card via the UK Q-School.
In October 2017 Joyce along with Kevin McDine, Andy Lynn, Alan Davey, David Gradwell, Shaun Pomeroy and Tony Hardy won the National Punch Tavern pub darts team event, representing the Black Bull of Blaydon defeating The Red Lion of Bradford. The Red Lion team included Double BDO World Champion Scott Waites and former British open winner Martin Atkins. The Black Bull won 6-5 with Shaun Pomeroy defeating Martin Atkins in the nail biting deciding leg.
