Just finished watching this shit on YT, wasn't in a hurry :P
Started fast-forwarding after 3-4 sets, 86 avg from the world's number 1 was fucking impressive

After 6 sets:
comm: "Glen Durrant's checking out 32% that's OK, for Mark McGeeney a 54% that is excellent."
32% for world champion is just OK? It is superb ffs!

And what the hell was with he clappinggate, dear lord... :pointing:
81, 85 and 100 avgs at GSOD, how did he manage to avg 100 with all that awful noise, miracle I guess...
Funny thing - pussy from the crowd immediately stopped clapping when saw Gladiator's angry face  impressive stuff...

stroke face strikes again

"I've got a county match on Sunday. I play for Yorkshire now, who are a bit like the Manchester City of the darts world. We've got players like Mark McGeeney, Scott Waites and John Walton in our team. We're away to West Midlands on Sunday so I'll have to get focused on that."

All the best to Glen!

What a pathetic individual
At least he was honest about his titles not being worth what they were in the past though.

Is that Durrant's home county for darts? Fuck knows what Middlesbrough counts as, nobody seems to want to associate themselves with the Smoggies

No, he switched from "Cleveland" (a county that now no longer exists, well it does in darts but not in reality) for this season.

But yes, Yorkshire is the ceremonial county of his birth.

but the one mistake I made was not going to the Dutch Open, which is a huge tournament and a fantastic experience. So that's a must this year.

My internet died, thankfully, so managed to miss the final.

Quite surprised the World number one didn't manage to take the trophy, being the World number one and all that.

hello D'Artagnan, hope you're well. Having my first browse through the forums following the worlds. Always a good read.

Just wanted to clarify, "the home of world darts" is not a slogan that I came up with personally. It had been said (mainly in print) for many years, long before I took on the MC role. As the venue is the title sponsor I decided to use it as a catchy tag line to lead me into the big "Laaakesiiide" shout. We discussed it at a production meeting before my first worlds in 2014 and it seems to work. Like many walk-ons, fans respond to a signature slogan. It's never going to be everyone's cup of tea, but seems to get a positive reaction overall, so I use it.

When I was hosting stage two at Butlins at the Players Championship Finals, I announced it as "the home of world darts" in the warm up. It's all a bit of fun. The fans get that. I don't take things too seriously.

Hope it didn't spoil your viewing pleasure too much. It was an entertaining tournament overall, I enjoyed it. Have you ever been? Irrespective of politics, it's a great day out. The Modus shows are good there too.

All the best, Richard Ashdown.
Just having a bit fun as I knew you'd bite, that has to be 3 years on the bounce that you've answered. You don't have to explain yourself as I do understand the reasoning behind it whether I like it or not, pretty similar to Lakeside having the title 'professional' when that boat sailed along time ago imo..

You're still a cunt, mind... :D
