Um, yes you do, Raymond.
At least this makes a change from his annual "I'll be playing more events next year" announcement.

Doesn't want special treatment and asks for it in the same sentence.

Baz commented on it a while ago. Benefits in the form of PL/WS spots will continue to be provided though hehhh.

Sad to read but Raymond knows the rules. No exceptions and I expect top players to support the tour if they want the benefits it provides. Their choice.
Barry Hearn@BarryHearn
Of course he was instrumental but rules are rules. Had he supported the tour and played in the smaller events as well he wouldn’t be in this position As I said it’s his choice.

How about making the European Tour compulsory for the Top 24 Ranked in order to be considered for the Premier League or World Series of Darts I wonder, Uncle Barry?Rogg wrote:Baz commented on it a while ago. Benefits in the form of PL/WS spots will continue to be provided though hehhh.

I agree with Hearn, he knows the rules, in the same way Durrant shouldn't be handed a tour card. If you want it, earn it, like the folk actually turning up to the grubby qualifiers and lower ranked events.

Why should he? Does he pay for them to do Pro Tour and majors?Stran wrote:and im sure uncle barry will be happy to pay the hotels / flights of all the top 24 for these compulsory eventsBeppeBergomi wrote:How about making the European Tour compulsory for the Top 24 Ranked in order to be considered for the Premier League or World Series of Darts I wonder, Uncle Barry?Rogg wrote:Baz commented on it a while ago. Re: Barney refusing to play qualification in Holland for the
Barney hasn't played in any of them since 2013.
I don't see how anyone can deny that there are certain problems. Look at the ranking system getting increasingly distorted due to it being based on an Order of Merit, and the absurd gap between the World Championship prize money and the other majors. This has created a feeling in some players that a good World Championship is all that's really serious. Not good.

Re: Barney refusing to play qualification in Holland for the
Hasn't played one in Netherlands since 2013. In the last 2 years he has attempted to qualify for 7 ETs and only made 2, both in Germany.
What he needs to do is turn up at the UK Open qualifiers and go on a couple of runs to get into the Top 16, then play enough Pro Tour and ETs to stay there.

I assume that if you go to an event you'd be more than happy to see Barney, Gary, Mensur, Jackpot and MvG playing rather than Pipe, North and some unknown jobber.

I agree , i was talking about the comment making it a compulsory event though. They shouldnt be compulsory and if he did make them compulsory would he then pay travel and accom ?M H wrote:Why should he?
