My only concern on Cross is whether he can do it all again next year to establish himself as an elite player... It's only his first season in professional darts remember...

Me neither. Someone posted elsewhere a few days ago that Wade should be given a spot because of his loyal service to the pdc and that he's been a PL regular for so long that leaving him out would hurt his career
I pointed out that the PL is not some sort of benevolent league whose purpose is to prop up a fading career and perhaps if Wade was playing like he was worth a spot, then we wouldn't be having this debate.
Barney....lazy, serial under achiever.......he will get his spot though.
Mensur......not sure he's prepared to travel every week, though I wouldn't mind him in.
Lewis.....more interested in pies and ferries, fuck him off.
Chisnall.....simply has not had a good enough season to justify a place.
Cross.....I'd like to see him there, I think he's good enough and the shorter format won't be a problem.
Duzza.....just no, he needs to prove himself in the pdc. Not saying he can't, but he needs to make the switch and see where he is a year from now.

Hopefully there is a big shake up this season.....too many players been too comfortable for too long.

Does this same standard apply to RvB as well?

Absofuckinglutley, he hasn't really deserved his place for the past 3/4 years imo. I pointed out on another thread that I couldn't understand the support the support given in the UK to a serial underachieving Dutchman and was labelled a boarder line bigot

Yes but Barney played much better this year and has achieved much more than Wade has.

Does this bring the matter to an end or do I need to start screaming? The Power is handing in his tour card.

chris mason@Chris180Mason
@BarryHearn would you consider a non PDPA member and player who doesnt play PDC darts a place in the Premier League?

Barry Hearn@BarryHearn
Absolutely not.

murphio1888@murphio1888
"In 2018 I'll still do the Premier League if I'm invited," he said. "It's an invitational and if Barry [Hearn] said 'if you want to do it, then you can do it'."

Barry Hearn@BarryHearn
You have to be under players contract to be part of Pdc Phil has resigned his membership.

Phil could join the Sky Commentary team I've read last week.... I'm sure he'll do a better job than Mardle in the first place....

PL: mvg, wright, ando, gurney, lewis, cross, suljovic, barney, chizzy and whitlock

Depending on the wc it may be kyle anderson instead of whitlock but I think they want to include an aussie.

Prediction: this post may or may not be aging well..

Could be possible. The Worlds can say a lot regarding the matter though...

LAOLA1 : After the World Cup, the starting field for next year's Premier League will be announced. Do you expect to play Premier League next year?

Suljovic: I was directly approached by the PDC (Professional Darts Corporation, Note). If I do not retire in the first round of the World [Championship], I think I'll be 99.9 percent nominated. I'll play one hundred percent, I'm looking forward to it. The Premier League is the only one I have not experienced at the PDC and I hope they invite me. I'm doing my best and I think I'm ready for this Premier League.

Skweezit: Yeah. I'm not sure why I am in this interview, but Yeah.
