imagine if taylor was appointed to the pdc board, i can imagine people/forums that would simply explode with righteous indignation!
the same people who defended olly and tore strips of phil seem to be very quiet lately.
And I agree, it is a conflict of interest having spineless the player on the board in a player capacity.

Lest not forget he is also heavily involved in the ipda.He selecting teams for the world cup arranging how seeding workls etc is wrong and he should have retire from beating other jobbers

How do you know Adams directly replaced Croft. Have they named the positions each new member will take?
Adams or anyone else cannot stop anyone from playing in anything without legal reprisals.

My concern is who will be instilled as head and take the monthly cheque. I don’t think any of those named have the drive or ambition to move things forward. This will need someone who knows what the fuck they are doing.

I am not sayiong adams is taking olly's role but saying he has a place on the board as olly loses his....

from the bdo website

New Board of Directors for BDO

NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR BDO

At the AGM of the British Darts Organisation five new Directors were elected to the Board, one was retained and the resignation of Chairman Dave Alderman was accepted.

The new board is:
BARRY GILBEY (Chairman)
MARTIN ADAMS
WAYNE WILLIAMS
DEREK WESTON
VIC SEXTON
SUE GETTY

More information will be issued in due course.

With all the questions about who owns what and where did the sponsorship money go, I think we are only getting started.

although the transfer of power has been voted on,
olly did a lot of his deals with just an old school handshake,
wonder if the bdo will offer olly some sort of consultant role.

Hi Guys, 1st post.
This is great news that a dinosaur has been removed but, the fact that Adams is on the board must give us all call for concern.
Massive conflict of interest from the one that has been the major talking point in GSOD participation and his opinion of the PDC.
Will we end up with a new Olly Croft? I hope not. The downfall of the present Board took too long but now it has arrived I hope they don't make
the same mistake again.

I feel it's a bit too late to make a recovery for the BDO. Think it will slowly change into an organisation that will succesfully run the county end of darts and various opens. But that will be it. And I think that will also suit to run along side the PDC.

Welcome aboard polarbear.

Have to agree with you on the main points.
Adams position in the ipda is a conflict of interest, along with his ability in selecting players for the world cup etc...
His resentment to Uncle Barry and the pdc is well known and I too think he will not only be as bad as olly but worse.

What next,,,order all players to boycott the GSoD ?
Delighted to see the old cunt gone but it wont make a blind bit of difference in the end....only winners I see will be the lawyers when it gets messy

Was it Frank Maloney they were in talks with briefly?
Not doubt this change will make promoters sit up and take notice.

Maloney expressed an interest but a meeting never took place

EDIT: It was Frank Warren

Knew it was one of the two. I agree with Sammy's point about needing an outside person with experience like Hearn.

The potential in the BDO for someone like that to mould into something successful is massive.
