Olly Croft came close to breaking them, not morally, but financially. The eye watering sums for the time that the WDC had to loan, or generosity from John Raby and some of the WDC players just to keep the court case going, as a failure to reach court would mean no BDO player would associate with the WDC.

Sid mentioned the total amount of legal fees in his book. It was something like £300,000 spent on legal fees by the WDC side, and £250,000 on the then much richer BDO side. This was in the days when the BDO World Champion got around £30,000 and the PDC World Champion was getting about a third of that.
