Taylor must seethe at night over that
He wouldn't be human if he didn't regret it, especially as his performances were a big reason for the prize money going up so much, but this sort of thing has happened in other sports too. When Denis Law retired from football in 1974, he had to go and find a job as a carpenter. One of the all-time great footballers, and he was nowhere near having money to retire on. Today, even mediocre footballers seem to get thousands of pounds a week.

MVG will earn more for winning one world's than Taylor won for all of his soon enough.

Rather strange, when he's been a semi finalist for 3 years running, and has beaten van Gerwen, Taylor and Lewis x2 in those years, despite them also beating him in the same period. Barney has only had one disastrous PDC World Championship, in 2012, when he was beaten by James Richardson 3-0 in the first round.

Well done MVG, good effort Wright, the expected surge came, the inevitable happened, enjoyable enough match though!

The fact is krusty does not believe he can take down MvG no matter what.

Even though he took battering today Taylor has shown this last 15 months that when he gets in a position to take out The Gurner he can actually finish the job off, very few otbers believe they can
