Flight shape & size, how much does it matter

I went through the same drama when I started shooting long bows. "Parabolic or Shield fletching...strait, left, or right hand helical"?

I used to use pear shaped flights...and then experimented with standard flights by clipping off the edges to make a "maxi-slim flight". It didn't make one bit of difference for me.

After much experimentation and reflection I decided to go with standard flights. Still use 'em today.

changed my flights around 8-9 months ago makes a difference as my darts always went in at a funny angle , now there a bit more straight and certainly hit alot more 180s now than i used too . I used the same "Rab Smith" flights for over 20 years before i finally changed them....
