Is it in Cardiff again, or is it moving elsewhere?

The PDC calendar says it's Cardiff. I believe there were some rumours about bringing it to Bornemouth, but that wouldn't make any sense.

Klaasen and Mensur are very close now, and with Taylor not playing a lot of events, they could easily overtake him. Would the PDC give a freebie invite to Taylor just because he's fucking off or cause he's defending the title?

He's reigning champ, it'll be the final few months of his career and the BBC would probably love him to be involved. But the criteria for this is so black and white that I really don't think they would bend it. If Taylor's not in the Top 8, he'll be there working for the BBC, imo.

2017 Champions League
Cut-off date:
July 31 2017
Seeds:
Top 8 in Order of Merit
Qualifying Players:
Top 8 in Order of Merit drawn in two groups of four as per seed pattern

The PDC site says it's the top 8 in the rules section, as you posted. If they want to shoehorn Taylor in, they shouldn't have posted the rules on the official PDC site.

I don't really care if it's Taylor or anyone else. Be nice to see Jelle or Mensur in, but as Taylor hasn't got much left, I'd understand if they went on to include him. It's a non-rankng event after all so they do as they see fit.

Having said that, Klaasen would have every right to be fuming if they dropped him in favour of Phil. He's already got fucked out of the World Cup last year, hasn't been invited to any of the World Series events this year, so the PDC's treatment of him isn't too fair, and this would make things even worse.

Much as I'd like to see Phil in action, since I'm a fan of his, I think that he should either win the Matchplay or else no Champions League for him at this stage if we want to be fair...

Bottom line is this is an exbo cobbled together for the BBC, all about the publicity and not the prestige

Don't be stupid, the BBC wouldn't show pointless darts year after year, would they?
