Disagree as that takes a load of money away from the players and makes it a better paid travel club. I'd increase the number the top players have to commit toMr. Saldaar wrote:I would halve the players champs events from 22 to 10 or 11. Alternatively 11 events, double the prize money (20k to the winner, 10k Runner up etc)........How would the PDC force big names to compete in these events w/o added incentive?M H wrote:Disagree as that takes a load of money away from the players and makes it a better paid travel club. Re: PDC Players Championships 2017
The tour is going to split eventually as this has been talked about and eluded to over the last 2 years by various PDC people. One tour for the top players and one for the rest. I am sure there will be a rotating door to do this keeping a fresh batch of players coming into the top tour while the dross gets sent down to the lower tier tour.Mr. Saldaar wrote:Alternatively 11 events, double the prize money (20k to the winner, 10k Runner up etc)........How would the PDC force big names to compete in these events w/o added incentive?M H wrote:Disagree as that takes a load of money away from the players and makes it a better paid travel club. If the tour does split I think they will or should raise the number of PC's events these will make up the lower tier. The ET's will probably be the base of the top tier. The split automatically makes the ET's mandatory for the top players as it will be the only way to maintain rank and invitation to the majors.
Will be interesting to see what the incentive structure will look like for both levels if they do this.

Re: PDC Players Championships 2017
The other thing is you need the players playing often and against the best talent this probably has been the key factor to raising the standard of the game as well as selecting the best players to play the majors. The lack of it probably has been a factor in why the BDO has stagnated if not gone backwards in recent years.
The biggest concern is if they split the tours your taking out a significant number of some quality players from the PC's and their participation I think is important to raising the standard of play for those on the cusp. You need to be playing the best to get better if your on that cusp.

Re: PDC Players Championships 2017
Norris playing Klaasen got to be one of the highlights. Klaasen only seeded 52th, that's pathetic from a player close to the top 10. Know he missed some events but still should be top 32 comfortably.
Bunting and Benito also unlucky to meet first round, promises to be a good game. Although that's not really bad luck as both were mediocre in PC's this year.
Barney fucking off the pro tour all year and gets Ian White FFS. You just know the floor clogger will giggle his way into an easy defeat and RVB will get away with being a lazy fuck.

Re: PDC Players Championships 2017
Lewis should be licking his chops at this opportunity, a good draw for him. If he got his shit together and worried more about his darts and less about the nearest buffet he could do enough damage in this to add a big chunk of change back to his oom that he is losing before the end of the year.
