I agree, if there is a country on the horizon that can challenge GB & Holland for darting supremacy, it's Germany.

And, the big armed maximizer is the poster child in this effort. All these random events are in Germany for a reason.

Yet, despite having one of the easiest possible routes for qualifying for each Euro Tour event, Hopp did not even manage to qualify for the European Championship. At least Schindler did, by virtue of actually getting past the last 32 phase on a few occasions.

that is a big "if" and Germany isn't even close. Of course Hopp is young but he still needs years of development before he can even think of contending against the best from England, Scotland, Wales, NI and the NL's.
Australia has two players ranked higher in the oom and the pro tour oom than any player from Germany.
Austria has one player ranked higher on the oom and two ranked higher on the pro tour oom than any player from Germany.
Belgium has one player ranked higher on the oom and three ranked higher on the pro tour oom than any player from Germany.
