When you actually feel anger over a place like this it's time to get a life

I don't particularly like the World Series. It just comes across as a souped-down Premier League. However, it does its job, and I can understand why it exists in this day and age.

Same here, senna. That ITV show the Matchroom (not mushroom) shows delayed in the nights is just a nice bonus for UK audiences.

Or for those in the UK who like darts but don't have Sky and don't use streams, I'd imagine it's a most welcome series that fills the gigantic darts black hole on 'terrestrial' TV between the UK Open and the Champions League (did I forget anything? *apart from to kill myself of course).

It because we have been spoiled with a plethora of fantastic comps, A PL, streamed floor champs etc that this World series is not as important.

Take the bdo, they could only dream of shit like that, the PDC have us all spoiled

Correct.

Having said that, despite the wealth of events, I am still looking forward to the Matchplay. I'll still watch the World Cup as well.

I must be one of the few who is not a fan of the matchplay as a top major.

Yes it is a major, has the history, the huge prize fund, the tv etc but unlike the other "proper" majors it lacks something.

The Grand Prix has its double start, the UK open has its open draw, and the Worlds is obviously the pinnacle but leg play majors are something i am not a fan off in general.
That said the longer format makes for good viewing and with so many players unable to maintain consistency and hitting purple patches, games tend to exciting in that comebacks are always a strong possibility.

It has lost some of its identity. Leg play has become the norm. However, it's nice to have the top 32 play in a TV tournament. Especially one with SKY's production values (sans Mardle) The players also care about it a lot. Taylor and Wade have made comments in the past about how much it matters.

Again I have no doubts it a genuine major, the players love the venue ( and prizefund) guess its a case of legplay, we see it in the PL, World Series, Euro tours, on the floor comps, the UK Open, the GSoD

Too many tournaments are leg play.
Would be nice to see some different formats.
