The saddest bit about all this is it's over. As inept as they are they'll never surpass the last twelve months, must be impossible

It was a fun ride while it lasted.

Oh, and apparently Scott Mitchell's quote about everyone coming back in droves was a "joke". Sigh.

I said this every year.
It would be impossible to repeat.

Said at the previous tv event they hit rock bottom and it could not get any worse, and then we had this winmau masters.
When you think it was impossible for the bdo boards to make things any worse the bdo managed to do it.
That takes some amount of doing...or is that not doing ?

Never underestimate the power of the BDO to make even bigger fools of themselves.

‘A NEW ERA FOR BRITISH DARTS’

'The British Darts Organisation (BDO) are delighted to announce the dawn of a new era for British
darts. This comes in the form of a revised event calendar for 2016 with financial backing from new
key sponsors.

The calendar will include 3 ‘Majors’; namely The BDO World Trophy, BDO World Matchplay and the
Winmau World Masters. All will be held in new venues with the iconic Copper Box Arena in the
Olympic Park, London, hosting the Winmau World Masters. This will now be our end of year
marquee event, held over the weekend of 8th - 11th December 2016 and will incorporate the new
end of season player’s awards. The ‘Majors’ will be complimented by 4 new special events held
across the UK that will all involve ‘Top 16’ ranked players and wildcards from within the BDO.
Details of our sponsors will be announced over the forthcoming weeks, to coincide with the run up
to Lakeshite 2016, as will the publication of the 2016 diary.

Sue Williams, Chairman of the BDO said “This is a new era for darts in Britain and I would like to
thank all the people who have worked so hard over the last few months to make this happen. These
are exciting times for the BDO and darts internationally. We look forward to the BDO growing from
County to Professional level, backed by the biggest brands”.

Current World Champion Scotty Dog Mitchell said ‘Wow, exciting times indeed and I'm sure all the
players in our system can't wait to play in these events’
