For me the issue has to be about cost. There's no reason the Beeb couldn't have both the Lakeside and a random PDC comp on its channels if it wanted. They are not a channel that is dependant on ratings or ratings driven.

So quite simply, it must have cost them less to put the CLOD on than the Lakeside.

To fuckin thick to comprehend the PDC most likely have a deal with the BBC , like they have with Sky and ITV that they do not show bdo shit alongside their product.

The decision to broadcast the new event means the BBC will cease to cover the BDO World Championship.

Think it was added in later; the BDO must have known this was coming. Might explain their desperation to get Billingsgate off the ground
