And with longer group matches. A GSOD-like tournament with a more evenly matched tournament field and something like best of 15 in the group stage would do nicely.

Edit: And now that I think about it - could be easily done by scrapping the BDO invites and reducing the field to 24 players in 6 groups. (With exactly the same criteria as right now, except that all tournament winners qualify by right and open qualifying only fills what's left to get to 24.) 6 groups = 36 group games, which could easily be done as best of 15 in the same 6 group sessions they have now.

The one saving grace of the BDO's continued existence, such as it is - imagine if the PDC actually had to cater to people like him. Better to have them quarantined in the BICC etc..
