Randomly found because he was badgering Barry in multiple posts. Other highlights include him stating that he knows more about darts than Matt Porter and that Price should be getting "a long if not life ban".

Maybe somebody else wants to excerpt more of his rants, I couldn't manage in between all the facepalming.

(In fact, the "random with 1 follower" that Dawson refers to might well be this guy. If so, he's up to 2 now.)
Yes that is the guy DD was referring to. :) who needs drugs anymore?

Someone in the middle of that lot helpfully pointed out that 'Justin Price got a €3k fine for an inaudible cough.'

The darts returns soon, thankfully.

As cannibal so rightly said, for a working glass game, born in the pub there are some precious little flowers around the game.

Ok, so my top 12 would be:

1. Taylor
2. Bristow
3. Gulliver
4. MVG
5. Gary Anderson
6. Barney
7. Ashton
8. Lowe
9. B Anderson
10. Hedman
11. Wilson
12. Wade

David Edmond @MisterEStrange 12h
That’s a very different list. Barney very Low. Wade and Hedman in their without world titles. I should have put Gulliver in mine, but honestly I didn’t even think of women.

LauraTurner180 @LauraTurner180 11h
Lol - I’m not sure anyone did...world trophies aren’t everything - @Deta132 has over 130 Bdo titles! I like to look beyond just one comp, no matter how prestigious!

Christ. Putting women on a list with men.

To be fair, if its purely darting achievement it's not the most ridiculous list I've seen.
No place for hedman an and wade when the likes of Priestley aren't included mind.

Not many men should be above Lowe, let alone women.

This is a very fair point
Lowe is vastly underrated.

Oche's list had Adams above Lewis.

I'd only have Taylor and Bristow above him.
Adams is just plain silly.

I can't comment on the Bristow era. Because I didn't live through it. My memory only goes back to 2000 or so.

So for this century I would go with:

Taylor
MVG
Anderson
Lewis
RVB/Wade
Part

Part gets in due to his bottle more than anything.

The Barney of the 1990s and 2000s was a prolific winner that had a knack of underachieving also, not like the more recent Barney who is brilliant for the occasional match but usually disappointing and never wins tournaments. Unfortunately, the recent Barney is sticking in people's minds more, a bit like Stephen Hendry in snooker. They stick around with years of underachievement and people sometimes forget how good they were in their best years.

Lewis won 2 World Championships, and a few other majors, but consistency in TV tournaments was seldom his thing. His most consistent year is 2013, when he was something of a thorn in van Gerwen's side for a while. Wade, contrary to Lewis, is a prolific major winner and finalist, but the World Championship has eluded him. Anderson is one of the best talents ever, won 2 World Championships, lots of other majors particularly recently, and 2018 is probably his most consistent year as far as TV events go, but he has had a lot of terrible defeats in his career. Years ago, I'm thinking the years of 1998-1999, 2001 and 2003-2007, Barney had this air that he was the best in the BDO and that he was likely to win every tournament, even though he had a knack of underachieving also, unlike a certain Phil Taylor in the PDC. Not for nothing was Taylor vs. Barney such a hot debate and wish list at the time. And when Barney switched, massive impact.

Barney's place in darts history is very special too. He is the main force behind the darts boom in the Netherlands from 1998 onwards, and to a lesser extent in the rest of Western Europe, and his switch to the PDC and rivalry with Taylor massively accelerated the process of the PDC's rise and BDO's decline.

Bslow Lowe you could make arguments for any in the list to swap places.

Ahhh shit, I forgot about Dennis. He was still good when I started watching. First PDC player that I supported.

What does van Gerwen need to do to overtake Barney in your personal list?
