Andy Scott @andy_c_scott

On 1 January 2007 the first PDC Order of Merit was published following the World Championship win by @Raybar180. After PC12 this weekend there will have been 500 ranking events since. 64 different players have won these so far and @MvG180 & @PhilTaylor have 85 each. #LoveTheDarts

So Taylor and van Gerwen have combined for around one-third of all ranking titles in that just over a decade period, even though van Gerwen was still a nobody for the first half of that time and Taylor barely entered anything except TV events in the second half. If they'd both been around to go full throttle for all 11 years, they might have won more titles than the rest of the field combined...

They are some amazing stats, i bet that more of the wins by others are coming in last few years now that the PDC has come up with a great system.

Andy Scott @andy_c_scott

2017 PDC ranking event new finalists - 7, new winners - 5.
2018 PDC ranking event new finalists - 8, new winners - 5.
But there's still 23 of the 48 events to come!

Some amusing comments, people seem surprised for some reason:

oche balboa @OcheBalboa1
This is the amount of tickets for the @BDOdarts World Trophy at @prestguildhall Awful promotion of the event Wed = 23 Thu = 28 Fri = 20 Sat afternoon = 18 Sat eve = 47 Sun aft = 7 Sun eve = 14 TOTAL = 157 #bdo #darts

Chris Mason @Chris180Mason
They need to pull it.

oche balboa @OcheBalboa1
Not this close to the event surely

Chris Mason @Chris180Mason
Well just for damage limitation, potential broadcasters/sponsors see a beautiful venue like the guildhall with a handful of people in it for a BDO major surely its beyond rescue?

oche balboa @OcheBalboa1
The first mistake was booking the bigger room of 2,000 BDO events will not full 2,000

@LutonEye
They are appalling promoters. The private exhibition stuff gets promoted better than the BDO, which is a shambles if you pass yourself off as a governing body. Mickey Mouse wears a BDO watch.

etc.

Maybe the BDO should establish a commercial arm for the purpose of tournament promotion.

A reply on that Tweet of Oche's:
8 days out from the event and just looking I am 4.5% of the total crowd for the whole event surely free tickets to darts teams that play in leagues.
