Don't disagree....we used to have a round robin when it was 24 teams but scheduling restrictions make it impossible now. Best of 7 is as short as we can go and not fair to deprive eight teams of the chance to compete now global standard is increasing

There's a few reasons why that move isn't right for the event, the main ones being the need to accommodate the ancillary services and facilities for the event, access and egress for fans in to and around the hall, possible loss of atmosphere with the high ceiling and more!

Actually, it was two years before (October 2015), not one. And it was in Hull, not Bridlington. Even the year he's talking about (2016) wasn't in Bridlington. #ParlettiFailsInOnlyOneCode

Read the comments under that tweet. Apparently Cross got disqualified from the BDO qualifiers for drinking during a game and BigWorm makes an appearance to white knight for the BDO.

Incidentally, Parletti himself wasn't even qualified for the World Masters that year (unlike Cross, who lost out one game before the TV rounds), and apparently didn't bother to take up his spot in the Lakeside qualifier (was listed as a walkover to a guy from Gibraltar of all places).
