Scott Mitchell @scottydogdart
End of the day the books have to balance, speedway very hand to mouth sport, dwindling crowds make it difficult to fund changes wanted by fans.

Steve Koch @officialkoch
Unfortunately this is a circular problem. Crowds are down because you don’t get big name riders in British speedway any more, clubs can’t afford big name riders because crowds are down.

Scott Mitchell @scottydogdart
A little like you don’t use it, you’ll loose it.

Steve Koch @officialkoch
I'll still be there every week. I know there are a lot of Bees fans that wish they could watch their club draw against Wolves at home. But the truth is that we need to find out what it will take to bring people back or attract new fans. Inaction won't help.

Speedways popularity among paying punters can't have dwindled more than bdo darts.

Are they talking about the BDO?

Speedway's a good night out. Remember going to the White City forty years ago

He's talking about speedway, but it's a perfect summary of something the BDO diehards don't get about the org's lack of fans either: It's not like people "don't use it" anymore because they're somehow absent-minded or ignorant, they've consciously decided that they have no use for it anymore, and consequently none of them will care if they "lose it". Guys like Mitchell still think that there's something valuable in BDO professional-level darts that needs to be preserved, but there just isn't.

Oh wait. My bad, he said "loose it".

Chris Mason @Chris180Mason
Delighted to announce that @talkSPORT2 will be bringing you all the action live from the 2018 Betway World Cup of Darts the 32-nation event from May 31-June 3 in Frankfurt can be listened to online, via the app or on DAB

oche balboa @OcheBalboa1
I think I will listen to talksport while watch the BDO darts

Chuckle. Well done oche. That is something though. The Worlds, the PL and now the World Cup on Talksport. Radio darts has been a remarkable success. I was listening to TS2 yesterday as it goes, the League 2 play-off final. It is an actual radio station, not some obscure internet nonsense.

Preston Guild Hall @prestguildhall 15m

Warren Allsworth @warrenallsworth 18h
This week two darting events. One sold out for months, with a strong tv package and now a strong radio package. And then the shambles that Preston looks like turning into. I’m not one for the politics of darts but the gap has never been wider. Huge changes needed to BDO.

Andrew Dougan @dougan90 18h
Thinks are needing to change lot’s of people still know about the event and not attending no digs at anyone in my comments but yes it’s not been marketed to the masses but it’s not winning over the people who watch darts often.

Warren Allsworth @warrenallsworth 18h
I agree 100%. Even two years ago I'd have probably gone every night but the draw and field just doesn't tempt me that much. May bob up for a session over weekend but names like Adams, Fitton, Fordham being missing for example a bigger issue than PDC losing Taylor seemingly.

Andrew Dougan @dougan90
The new guard really need to step up to the plate the opportunity’s are there to take just disappointing about crowd numbers but that’s not going to take away from my experience

I didn't even notice that! Oh dear oh dear. Density of comedy in that one tweet is outrageous.
