The fast unravelling of Gezza's PL adventure is all the more startling considering the admittedly lighthearted begging to be picked he did direct to Uncle Baz on the twatterz all last year. He ain't getting back in at this rate.

Saw those numbers a few days ago. Interesting but nothing to get too ecstatic about. Those are the total views for channel and stream over the 6 weeks of PL. More interesting would be the breakout for stream vs channel viewing. I wouldn't be surprised if the stream was close to the broadcast number. Stream is live, broadcast is delay.

I have looked regularly for darts viewing numbers for the US, they don't make the top 150 for cable shows so they are getting less than an estimated 140k depending on the night time etc. The last darts to make the top 150 was the us darts masters in July 2017 at 117k. That number was big more than likely due to concaf gold cup leading into it as the number 8 cable broadcast for the day. But still that was a good number for the time of day at midnight.

Upside BBC America is showing the stuff regularly and free stream and the PL is just the type of event that would appeal to the market here. Quick, fast pace, short matches. By the end of the PL if the numbers are growing substantially then that is something to get excited about. Baby steps certainly is accurate, and BBC America probably isn't looking for massive numbers as they aren't a big player in the cable ratings. So it very well maybe that PDC has found a short term home in America.

Shaun Martyn Howell—who lost all 20 legs at Q School this year—won a leg against Carlo van Peer today in 27 darts. He averaged under 50 for the match, however.

Howell replied by saying " Actually for the record I enjoy playing darts and am doing it for the experience"

As long as he is having a good time, it's fine.

Said many times if I had the time I'd do Q School just for the experience. Wouldn't expect to win a leg

Ok I have been trying to find out exactly what the fucking number is weekly. Typically the term reached is number of people that watched in total for whatever time frame. In this case the time frame according to the article/press release was the entire PL so far. Ratings are different as they are avg number of people viewing at any given time.

After reading a half a dozen blurbs on this it seems to me that confusion between reached and ratings has muddied the waters on getting a clear picture on this shit. Best as I can sort based on putting pieces together from various sources so that the thing makes fucking sense with the known numbers coming from the top 150 cables...It seems that 1.3 million are being "reached" weekly as they are clicking on the website, or watching the stream live, or watching archived stream, or watching the broadcast (all for any length of time). The average rating is 100k weekly, this means those watching on the TV broadcast. The broadcast is the 1.5 hour highlight show.

This means that it probably is a better picture than I painted in my original post on the matter. If the 100k rating number is correct that is very good compared to the numbers that PL was getting in previous years on broadcast here. Those previous numbers were less than 20k, but those numbers were due to months old PL matches and buried in the midnight hours.

Still not getting too excited but it is a start and would like to see the numbers at the end of the season.

Not gonna lie I've absolutely hated premier league, it's been a great experience, something not every dart player can or will ever say they've experienced but unfortunately it wasn't for me, looking forward to some time at home with the family and getting back to the old me

He could have just said:

"I wasn't as good as I needed to be" - and let that be that.
