Dr Linda Duffy @sportspsycoach
If, by some remote chance, Unterbuchner won the BDO Word championship @BarryHearn would have kittens

Chris Mason @Chris180Mason
Barry needs a German averaging 108 not 88

Chris Mason @Chris180Mason
Totally driven by PDC darts in Germany, those that fill the 8000 seater venues over there probably don’t even watch this.
There's a sizable mushroom community over here too that was basically anointing Unterbuchner the new German darts superstar by the time he'd made the quarterfinal, and savaging the PDC's German TV commentator who dared to suggest on Facebook that Unty had "played good, not great" to get there.

So they sign a contract to say if they move they will lose prize money? #unfair

John Roberts @twiggylache09 17m
Nobody forces them to sign the contract...

Barry Hearn @BarryHearn 6m
Contract is signed in most cases under duress which is illegal.

Chris Mason @Chris180Mason 5m
Agreed I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t hold up in court

Barry Hearn @BarryHearn
Agreed but it’s the players fault if they don’t fight it.

I'm going to guess at fuck all or we'd know about it. Jackpot Joy used to play for the players accommodation but weren't around this year?

Stupid question maybe, but I assume that the PDC don't pay for players hotels/transport when they hold tournaments, do they?

In the space of 24 hours the German has gone from a great prospect playing brilliantly to a jobber averaging 88?

I thought they all got their heads down in Shayne Burgess' van and went out shooting squirrels in order to get a feed ?

PDC pay actual proper prize money, win one match and that's the expenses covered

Q School (Quick check)

Entries £450
Hotel £270 ( Obviously cheaper if booking early, 4 nights with travellodge)
Food/Drink £100
Train £46 (Return ticket)

Prices could be cheaper (If looked at elsewhere) still bloody expensive to do for a SL player

Listen mate there isnt a conveyor belt of Rob Cross type players lining up. The world of darts is littered with people who have remortgaged borrowed, ruined relationships and broken families all to chase a dream.
