Not sure if he's joking or if his brain is scrambled from Saint Edward of Howe leaving his beloved Cherries
No Wolfie.....no top 4 of the BDO......no Fallon.......

Think he’s too old to have a long professional darting career anyway

He almost definitely could have if Des the Cunt actually paid him ALL of his money and on time.

Barry Hearn @BarryHearn 3h
I’m very proud to have announced the Snooker calendar up to the end of the year today. Despite covid 19 we have a busier than ever event calendar with prizemoney unaffected by the current pandemic. Our attitude remains one of resilience mixed with creativity and hard work.

Ross Smith @rossinhosmith
Fantastic news Barry, any news on the darts and anymore tournaments? Players championships? I know we got 6 nights of Premier League coming up, just wondering what we got for the rest of the tour card holders

Barry Hearn @BarryHearn
Coming very soon.

Kind of see his point, though. (And Choco's)
Surely he would have still had some money saved up to go.

Yes true, it was all a bit half arsed from him. I don't think it's a reason not to invite him though. He's no horrid mushroom fundamentalist. He's kicked lumps out of the BDO all year and despises the Selectas. In fact he's probably on tdf somewhere (hi Wayne).

The proper reason not to invite him is that the whole BDO should be fucked off altogether but that doesn't seem likely at the moment.

All I remember from his Grand Slam was people losing their shit when he played Peter Wright. I can't remember exactly what Wright had left (likely 131?) But he had 71 left with 2 darts and he went for T7 to leave the bull.

I'm sure he wasn't expecting the full whack, but to just get £23k must have been a blow. If he'd shown this kind of form a few years ago, he could have had a solid few years in the PDC, but he's too old to have any kind of impact now

it's only a replacement for existing qualifying events, though? Will it ever happen again? What's the big deal really?

He's been getting injuries. Hopefully he can bounce back and return to the tour one day, never nice seeing people have to step away because of injuries

It is/was a nice gimmick, but let's be honest: it's horrible 'music'.

The big deal is they think this is the start of PDC starting a tour for the women. Maybe it is but I doubt it. The Women's tour would be a massive money loser for little to no return on investment. I highly doubt more than two women in any given given q school will win a tour card. I would also suspect that not more than 3 women in any given year over the next 10 years will have a tour card. And I can say with utmost certainty they won't contend for any major or even minor titles. One may fluke their way to a quarter final of some event and hell may freeze over and maybe one will win a PC. Point is dumping money into a womens tour is a massive money loser with no return on investment in the sense they would be feeding women into the Pro ranks that could develop into serious competition.

What the PDC really want is that one women who can consistently play at a good enough standard to be a real threat to the men especially in majors. Your not going to find the women via a female only tour. Your better off to find that women thru Challenge and Pro Tour. If she has the quality game to play and be competitive on those tours then you know you got yourself a real quality womens player. All the current ladies except Greaves and Sherock are too old and won't get better, you have seen the best of what your going to get out of them. Sherock doesn't have the quality either but I will give her a few years to see if she can improve her game. Greaves is the one that I think has the most potential to actually be competitive at the mens level. Mainly because she is unproven so who in the hell knows what she can really do when arrows are constantly firing back at her day in and day out. She is young enough to not be set in her ways and being thrown into a higher standard of competitive play for a few years will either crush her or spur her on.

I fully expect a female from some other sport to cross over to darts and be the real contender in the next 10 years.

If I remember correctly they didn't let him use it on tv. Saw it on YouTube and tbh, I laughed like a cunt the first time I saw it.
