Grandstanding.

He knows that the PDC won't offer him a wildcard and the BDO wound't let him anyway.

He has the chance every year, should he have the balls to go for it

Ben @owlsfan83
Shocked the second biggest major in the sport still only pays 115k for the winner. Expected at least 250k by now. @BarryHearn

Barry Hearn @BarryHearn
Expect more next year !

No surprise who throws himself totally helplessly into TRIPLE CROWN talk.

Christopher Kempf @ochepedia 18h
Jeffrey de Zwaan is now the World #50. Here's an overview of his progression in the rankings (on the 1st of every month) since joining the PDC in 2015:

Fuck the World Series. Yeah fuck it! We're going to do a poundland version of the matchplay in the North of England instead. Lets invite Durrant xx

TungstenDarts @TungstenDarts
PDC seriously need to add another ranking tv event to the calendar. Unreal there is only 1 ranking TV event in the first 6 months of the year. Fuck the World Series, focus on 32 players battling for the PDC Darts Trophy in Liverpool

TungstenDarts @TungstenDarts
Top 16 joined by 16 qualifiers from a qualifying event. Can easily fit in the schedule between late May and June.

oche balboa @OcheBalboa1
So this Sunday there will be a vote to see who could be the next #bdo chairman It’s either going to be Roger Schena or Des Jacklin If one gets the majority they will have a tough job to do #darts

Chris Long @bullyforyou180
I hope it all goes well darts needs the bdo as not everyone can afford the pdc

thedartsforum @darts_forum
There are no entry fees for #PDC darts events Q School excepted. Far less travel for the rank and file as well. Then look at the rewards for winning one game of darts on the Pro Tour. Must be far more expensive playing #BDO darts for very little reward

Chris Long @bullyforyou180
You don’t have to do the bdo full circuit some people just enjoy playing super league and county and a few competitions without taking it to seriously. The bdo is not for pros anymore but they are the grassroots of darts and would be a real shame to see them go

thedartsforum @darts_forum
County darts costs big money, travel and two nights away and guess what, not a penny for the players! Still cheaper to play #PDC darts and don't have to do the full tour. You said #PDC was too expensive or more expensive than #BDO, still think that?

Getting rid of the World Series and replacing it with bleh is not a solution. Anyway European Tour can be good, it's mostly in the first half of the year. Not televised but this ain't the 90s.

Needing to complete the various annual merit lists dictates the calendar to a large extent. The Grand Prix and Matchplay are a bit different though, and could theoretically fall anywhere I guess. Does the Grand Prix need to be in October? It should have some distance from the Matchplay.

Of course replacing the WS is bullshit, I didn't mean that. Yeah rescheduling the WGP could be a solution

The Grand Prix used to be fine where it is, but that was before they turned both the European Tour (-> European Ch'ship) and the Pro Tour (-> PC Finals) into sub-tours with season-ending majors. Agreed that it should probably be moved elsewhere in the schedule. As always though the elephant in the room is the Premier League - lots of schedule improvements could be made if that didn't block off more than three months.

On the flipside, in golf they've just changed things up so that their 4 majors + biggest non-major will be taking place in a span of under five months, roughly spaced monthly. So the idea of loading up a small part of a "year-round" schedule isn't just favoured by the PDC.

I wonder if it would make sense to flip the Grand Prix and the World Cup in the schedule? The time distance to the Matchplay would remain about the same, but would unclutter the ranked majors a bit, and without impacting the PL. Of course, the question is if Sky would want a week-long tournament in late May / early June.

I quite like that. Do it.

Another Sky question is that maybe they regard the World Cup as being a perfect fit for the summer. The run-up to a football World Cup/Euros every other year is a neat time. But having said that, it has been held in February and December in the past...

One of those wannabe darts "journalists", i.e. owner of a blog almost nobody reads:

Tom Beresford
@Tomsportsjourno
The social media side is a MUST for the BDO, digging out, and finding results is quite shocking at the minute. With a good social media person onboard, it would boost the popularity of the BDO massively imo. The EDO do a great job when it comes to results and streaming of events

-----

For proof of his assertion, just look at how popular the EDO is...

Jesus fucking wept

The EDO site is quite possibly even worse than the BDO site.

They do need someone, but ED are not the ones to follow. There's a more obvious example...

It amazes me how fucking stupid people in darts are in employing the use of social media, websites, streaming and forums. There is no purpose or goal that links all the platforms together to drive home a message or even just provide information. Streaming, ffs talk about a money suck. Wait till they implement a pay scheme, they won't get more than a couple dozen interested in that. No one wants to see your shit opens in cesspoolastan, and you weekend pissups in pikeytown. BDO or ED, EDO or whatever the fuck they are calling themselves now, end of the day same retards just different acronyms
