Good catch Rogg. Those are the numbers I wanted to see. The growth numbers over first half over second half. Any inference from the growth relative to other sports is a waste as the development of the markets are in very different stages. Especially when you start at next to nothing. Giving it away on social media is the way to go as very few in the market even know darts as a serious sport exists. Still think it is years away from being a regular earner of good money.

This just may bring some youngsters from the US with talent into the game if it continues to grow over there, which brings us nicely up to what is currently being discussed in the World Cup of Darts thread.

Maybe, but I doubt it. Youngsters don't want to be affiliated with a bunch of fat fucks swilling beer pretending they are doing something legitimately competitive in some dank shot hole without some kind of respectable reward for the effort. Darts in this country, the US of A, is a fucking laughable affair because they don't play for shit, even the best have to pay our of pocket to go play international events at the so called pro level. The whole system here is a syphilitic piece of rectum that every youngster should run from as not to be infected.

Any youngster who has legitimate potential shouldn't waste a single second playing here as there is no system and the piss poor talent they compete against here is no proving ground at all. They need to get over to the UK and determine if they have what it takes to be a Pro or if they are only a typical amateur who can fart around in the BDO WDF crap.

That was the perception of darts here in the uk once upon a time.

"That was the perception of darts here in the uk once upon a time."

Still true of County Darts.

"Unprecedented." poor Phil. Think this is the site that nicely mocked the proper darts in January tho so that's oky.

On Thursday night, he just showed that his dominance is set to continue as he clinched an unprecedented fourth Premier League title in six years with a victory over Michael Smith but a victory that was truly gobsmacking - even for Michael van Gerwen's unbelievable standards.

Menzies enjoying himself on Euro Tour: ‘Otherwise you will never love playing darts’
https://dartsnews.com/interview-menzies ... ing-darts/
“Playing at the Challenge Tour improved my consistency,” said Menzies in an interview with Dartsnews.com. “When I was playing in BDO tournaments, most of the games were best of seven, sometimes best of seven.“

“The PDC-tournaments are played in a bigger format, what means there’s no panic when you lose the first two, three legs of a match.”

Poor sods have no clue how to transcribe human speech so that it's readable, clearly.

Second round matches on the same night as the First round? I assume that means one unlucky player will have to play twice that first night.

96 players for fucks sake. Hope the early rounds will be on the floor.

No doubt it's huge money and a great boost especially for the international qualifiers. But I'd rather see other events expanded. The Worlds is already too big compared to the rest and the disparity in prize money will distort the rankings even further.

Anyway the inclusion of two female players is great, even though I woulda preferred if they qualified in a mens field. But 2 out of 96 players is not too much and should be great TV and advertisement for the game.
