Anyone from here could have written that article. Providing that 17m figure without any elaboration or any mention as to where the data is from, that's just simple clickbaiting.

The only way darts in the US will "flourish" if some committed individuals take the risk and compete at the highest level. There is no way all that all these various organisations will get together and accomplish something for the whole of North America. There are just too many factors that are making the darting scene extremely diverse, some of which are even mentioned in this article, even if their findings are simply trivial most of the time.

Alright Constable Mushroom. Still, Hughes: 2x Lakeside semis, Masters finalist and Zuiderduiduiduiduiduin winner.

Czech Euro Tour the biggest achievement of his career he says. It's notable that he thinks that way. And he's correct, obviously.

A maybe surprising inclusion of darts in this Mail article following the Cricket World Cup on the greatest 10 finals everrr.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/crick ... -1966.html

There are some sporting moments that will forever remain in conversation for the greatest ever final, greatest ever shot or greatest ever game.

Eoin Morgan guiding England to their first Cricket World Cup at Lord's entered the discussion over the weekend to join other highlights such as Liverpool's Champions League final comeback in Istanbul and Rafael Nadal's epic Wimbledon win over Roger Federer in 2008.

While this list is in no particular order, Sportsmail has gone through the archives to take a look at 10 of the most dramatic finals in sporting history.

2007 - PDC World Darts Championship

It took something quite remarkable to beat Phil Taylor in the final of the PDC World Darts Championship back in 2007.

Dutchman Raymond van Barneveld was the man tasked with taking on 'The Power' in the final in what was the last time the event was hosted at the Circus Tavern in Essex (it is now at Alexandra Palace).

This was two of the game's greats, polar opposites in how they carry themselves on and off the oche, slugging it out in front of a boozy bunch of fans.

Van Barneveld produced one of the greatest comebacks in darts history to stun his rival, rallying back from 3-0 down in sets to win 7-6 after a sudden-death leg.

It was Van Barneveld's fifth world title overall but remains far and away the most memorable.

A dreadful omission. It's only a classic if Sharon Adams ends up with her face in a toilet.

I remember someone writing at the time that the Adams vs Nixon final might have just outdone the Taylor vs RVB final.

So aye, Fandarts and the like were about over a decade ago.

Maybe he could have dragged Taylor down, we will never know.

Adams vs. Nixon was a very good drama final, but it didn't look anything like that during the first 6 sets. Taylor vs. Barney was one of the greatest matches of all time, with drama, excellent standard, the historical significance, and (even though we didn't know it at the time) the last World Championship match at the Circus Tavern and its unique closed in rowdy atmosphere. Admittedly, Barney was crippled by nerves in the first 3 sets while Taylor cruised along, but then Barney responded with one of the greatest performances of all. How often in his entire career did Taylor lose a match after such a big lead? Taylor's tournament average was over 102, and he lost the final.

That's quite interesting. He was also 3-0 up in sets on Mardle in a 2008 QF. Phil Taylor 3 up in a race to 5 sets and binned it. But even at 3-0 he was struggling somewhat and was there for the taking if the inflatable palm tree waving buffoon could just pull himself together. Thankfully he did. We won't mention Kirk Shepherd.

Ok not a big loss in the position of commanding lead, but probably the strangest Taylor loss and one of my fave. The UK open final 2012. At 3-3 some spectator tried to get on stage. Created a ruccas right behind the players. Thornton went on to win 8 of the last 10 legs to smash Taylor 11 -5. Philth messed his pants and couldn't hit a double.

Glen wants Veenstra & Harms in the PDC: https://dartsnews.com/durrant-asks-veen ... in-the-pdc
”The BDO has some fantastic players, like Richard Veenstra and Wesley Harms. They are fantastic players. But if Richard and Wesley want to play the best players in the world, they have to come over to the PDC. I’m having a fantastic time. Wesley and Richard, come and join me”
Not sure what a man who thinks you play in the PDC for 60 weeks a year and medallion man with a rectal problem would add to professional darts.
2020 World Grand Prix Lucky Dip winner!
2x 2019 Q-School Lucky Dip winner!

Ha. Plus on the Dan Dawson chat he says 'I don't accept that' re Jim Williams not having wanted a card anyway: "He should be in the PDC."

Scotty Waites already knows where the juice is. He's the next first convert of the stalwarts. Not that he'll actually get a card of course. But he'll be fine battling it out on the CT with your Prakash Jiwas and Nick Fullwells.
