I’m no fan of Lewis, but to my mind his comments are just banter. Now imagine the uproar on here by some if James Wade has made those comments?
I dont think anyone would bat an eyelid whoever said it.
Meaningless throw away comment.
Are him and Deller still pals?
No idea but this is a none story if ever there was one

Mmm I’m not so sure. You are right about the throw away comment, but cast your mind back to when Wade played Asada at the worlds. Yes he made some silly comments after the match but there were some people on Twitter calling on him to be thrown out the tournament?? Really? He got fined for it, but the over reaction by some was incomprehensible.

Wade's behaviour in no way compares to the Lewis comments

I’m not saying it was, but I was making the point that people overreact and I do believe that some on this forum would have used it as a stick to beat Wade with.

How on earth can you compare those two comments is beyond me. Sure, you can't throw someone out from an event because of that but he should have got a much bigger fine. Lewis made a joke, who cares. Like when he said about Price "you can't practice crapping yourself" (Look where the two are at now by the way), really just move on. No one would have got offended if Wade said that. You're getting defensive over an imaginary situation.

You say I’m getting defensive, I say I’m creating debate on here 😉

Ps - I wasn’t actually comparing the incidents, nor being critical of Lewis.

Lewis parted from Deller a few months ago, I believe they aren't on good terms.

And no, you're really just discussing a made up scenario for no reason. What if someone said that, when even the original comment wasn't of any interest.

Trolling? I’m one of the few on here that can actually debate in a sensible manner without resorting to childish insults of other posters or darts players. Too many keyboard warriors on here.

🎙️ YOUTUBE EXCLUSIVE 🎙️

Had the company of John Gwynne earlier today to chat about the late, great Sid Waddell, eight years to the day since he died, and on the week he would have turned 80.

Enjoy:
