Only the quotes, can't be bothered with the rest of it. Durrant. Remember him?
http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/othe ... t-12892785
“I’ve been enjoying life since winning the world title,” Durrant said.
“I must have taken the world championship trophy the length and breadth of Teesside, from doing sportsman’s dinners to going into schools.
“But I must admit I’ve been playing rubbish and lost something.
“The focus has been on playing exhibitions rather than competitive darts.
“When you need 150 you go for three bullseyes rather than starting off on the treble 20, so it’s different.
“I read Alex Ferguson’s book recently and he said after he won his first trophy he was deperate to go out and win his second one straight away,” Durrant added.
“My mentality was ‘I’ve won everything now’.
“I lost to Richard Veenstra at the Isle of Man, but I’ve played worse and won tournaments and found him good.
“So it hasn’t been all bad and I won an exhibition in Manchester a fortnight ago.
“A lot of the PDC lads were there and Dennis Priestley, and I beat Kevin Painter in the final.
“But I’m looking to get some aggression back into my game and want to be in tip-top shape for the World Trophy.
“It’s being billed as me going for the triple crown but I hold the Finder Masters as well, so I’d consider it to be the quadruple which I would be really proud to win.”

Re: Darts articles in the Media thread
^^
You what? Sounds like something the Selectas would come up with to dazzle Cuntrunner."Dare I bring in a darting analogy here? I am big into darts. There is a rule in darts, if it is on television, you are not allowed hit your three darts until the previous replay has been shown - particularly if it is a really good shot, a 180 or something.
"A light comes on and that means every single dart can be shown now," said Burns, after GAA Hour host Colm Parkinson expressed his irritation that important action can be missed while replays are being shown.

Re: Darts articles in the Media thread
The Professional Darts Corporation has received two nominations in the 2017 Sports Business Awards for the success of the William Hill World Darts Championship.
Recognising both the business units within sports responsible for commercial success alongside those professional services and businesses dedicated to supporting the sport itself, The Sports Business Awards finalists are representatives from a number of sporting disciplines, including football, motorsport, rugby, cricket, cycling, tennis, hockey, darts, long-distance running, table tennis, basketball, canoeing and rowing.
The World Darts Championship has received nominations in the following categories:
Best Sports Event of the Year
Best Match (or Game) Day Experience
The judging panel includes five-time Olympic rowing champion Sir Steve Redgrave, Sport England chairman Nick Bitel and Head of BBC TV Sport Philip Bernie.
"This is a great recognition for the William Hill World Darts Championship to be nominated in two categories at the Sports Business Awards," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.
"To be nominated alongside so many prestigious events and organisations is a testament to the continued growth of the World Championship, the global importance of the event and the way that this has become such a huge part of the festive sporting calendar.
"The 2016/2017 tournament was arguably the best-ever, as we saw some incredible matches, a fantastic standard and the fittingly superb final between Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson."
Simon Burton, Co-founder of the Sports Business Awards, said: "The infrastructure, behind-the-scenes teams, professional services and products provided by businesses are integral to any sport.
"Without those businesses, not a single sport in the way that we know it would exist. Congratulations to all the finalists."
The finalists in the cateories which the William Hill World Darts Championship have been nominated in are:
Best Sports Event of the Year
- British Cycling – 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Championships
- EA SPORTS – EA SPORTS FIFA 17 Launch
- Harlequins – Harlequins Big Game 9
- ONE Championship
- Premiership Rugby – Aviva Premiership Rugby Final 2016
- Professional Darts Corporation – World Darts Championship
