Taylor. All over the place.
https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/other-sp ... n-12954115

He admitted: “I won’t lie to you, I’m not a big darts watcher now. I’m not a big fan of some of the characters in the game.

“I’m a channel-hopper. I sit at home with the TV remote, put on the Premier League to check the scores, and if certain players are on I’ll watch their games. But certain players will do something and off it goes – I’ll turn over to Coronation Street or Top Gear.”

At this point in the conversation, Taylor beats his chest [ ] — one of current world No.1 Michael van Gerwen’s idiosyncrasies on stage. [Gurney?]

He added: “Darts is the same as boxing: It needs big games, big rivalries, like Eric and Jocky Wilson all those years ago. It needs its own version of Benn v Eubank, or Joshua v Fury now, because needle matches put bums on seats and make great TV.

“That’s why, in the last few years of my career, I wasn’t afraid to have a go at some players. But I was becoming hit and miss on stage – one week I could walk the tournament, the next I would go out in the first or second round.

“The energy levels weren’t there, you’re getting older, your eyesight’s going and it was killing me. It was breaking my heart.”

I was one match away from qualifying for finals day of this shite about ten years ago and yes, no-one gave a fuck who even qualified from rural Wiltshire let alone the eventual winner !!!

But we all had a good time back in the day

That interview is fine, although I'm still wondering what that whole Gurney stuff was about at the Grand Slam last year.

Taylor stated he wasn't a fan of Gurney's attitude. In response, Gurney didn't pour Taylor a glass of water at the start of their game. Both made comments about the other after their game. Taylor's comments were much stronger than Gurney's.

Taylor has said before that he isn't the greatest lover of watching darts.

Maybe he could have dragged Taylor down, we will never know.

Really good article. Nothing new for the average forum dweller but a great summary of the state of the PDC and where it's headed.

And symptomatic that the only mention of the BDO in a 2,600-word "this is darts" article is that its existence stands in the way of a unified governing body. Even more symptomatic that the WDF doesn't rate a mention at all.

^^Mason saying they should bin the masters and world prolol altogether for the year. #hater
What sumptuous carnage would ensue.

A recommendation that they turn their back on Lakeside followed by a warning of 'commercial suicide'...

Chizzy's carer Roger: "To compare it to football, I believe the PDC is the Premiership and the BDO is the Championship, but that does not mean that it is still not profitable and able to be successful.”

By now it's more like, the PDC is league football and the BDO is non-league football.

What are the odds that when the BDO keels over, Durrant holds all 3(?) TV titles? Would drive the point home nicely for him.
