Jenkins better play more this year. I'd be pretty pissed off missing out on a tour card to someone with little intention of actually using it

Rob Cross finishes his debut season #3. Only Raymond van Barneveld has started from scratch and finished the year higher (#2).
True but I think Cross accomplishment is far greater than Barneys. Barney had years of experience and a couple paper championships in hand before switching., I.e proven talent.
Cross basically came from no where with little to no experience playing at the top end.
I agree. Barney's legendary 2006/7 should never be underestimated but it doesn't have the sheer bloody craziness that makes the Cross story. Both great world champions.

Took out the two top boys to win it. That is pretty much the perfect way to win a world title.

No one in the PDC makes money, m8. It's a myth.

A lot of those lads must be pushing past the BDO old guard on the career earnings list. "But, but the exbos"  Fitton is a fucking tramp.

Fresh Order of Merit. Players removed, added, money reset, whatever. Taylor gone. Thanks to Burton.

Got to think that Cross could be number 2 by Xmas bearing in mind all his earnings this year will add on and Wright will be fighting against his earnings form 2016

He could be number 1...

EDIT: should add, he's only 30k behind MVG on the post Ally Pally list.

to overtake MvG he would have to win everything and MvG would have to have a disastrous year, however MvG had an incredible 2016 so it be a lot closer

I didn't realise it was that close on the 2017 money.
Yes, Cross could overtake MvG

After the year he's had anything is possible I'd say.

Cross won't have a chance to overtake MVG unless he wins the Worlds again

Here's a selection from the DDB career earnings list:

Code: Select all

28	Martin Adams England £734,404
29	Brendan Dolan Northern Ireland	£660,839
30	Justin Pipe England £659,325
31	Rob Cross England £638,600
32	Dennis Priestley England £627,219
33	Scott Waites England £613,822
34	Mark Walsh England £595,342
If Cross does get to #1 by having another massive year and retaining his world title, he'll probably be in the top 15 darting earners of all time. In two years. The money's there if you're good enough, the PDC are cunts, etc.

(If he doesn't, and normal service is resumed, MvG will surpass Taylor's career earnings by 2020)

Makes sense as excellence should be awarded more than consistency. Cross gets people into watching darts. Doubt anybody ever got into darts watching wolfie and his solid 95 average...
