Seems very harsh according to the known facts. I suppose the 13 year period didn't help his cause.

Re: Random Dart Stuff
Why would I be joking? It is publicly available info, anyone can ring a court and ask for details of a judgement, in the same way anyone can wander into their local court and watch the proceedings of any case (in the majority of cases anyway)
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x

Nor did the blatant advertising. Plus we dont know whether he has ignored "cease and desist" letters in the past etc.Captain Hobo wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2019 8:01 am Seems very harsh according to the known facts. I suppose the 13 year period didn't help his cause.

Yes, that's why I included 'known'
I'd be interested to read the full judgement but can't find it online.

I find it strange this made the paper, even if it is the local rag. Then again here in 'merica the only thing that makes the paper tend to be shootings, police corruption and trump tweets as official white house policy positions.
Bootlegging doesn't get any kind of mention. In fact in this city between the ruskies and the Chinese you can't turn around without accidently finding yourself in possession of a dodgy product.
When does the Jacklin trial start for the jersey design they stole from Warner bros.?

Soft Darts World Cup under way right now if anyone's interested. The semis are Japan v Philippines and Hong Kong v Singapore. Format is really strange, all you need to know it's first to 4.

Edward Elton successfully prosecuted Darren Hawken for four offences under the Copyright, Design and Patents Act 1988. In a nine-year period he had recorded many thousands of sporting events shown on Sky Sports, the BBC, BT Sport and others which he then offered for sale through his website, “goonerproductions.co.uk.” In that time he produced and sold nearly four thousand DVDs of sporting events both nationally and worldwide, and been paid more than £107,000.
When his flat was searched two Sky+ HD boxes, 5 external hard drives, a DVD re-writer and over 3,800 DVDS were seized. All of the illegal DVDs and all of the recording equipment has now been forfeited.
The defendant was sentenced at Newport (IoW) Crown Court to 18 months imprisonment for each count, concurrent. Confiscation proceedings are ongoing.

Re: Random Dart Stuff
Regarding the above, either the monetary or DVD amount must be wrong as he was flogging them for no more than a fiver a go.

Cheers. I suppose with the scale and total amount 18 months is fair. Who knew so many people still bought DVDs?The Ginge Reaper wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 7:31 pmCopyright offencesCaptain Hobo wrote:Have you got a link to the judgement?
