Re: Random Dart Stuff
He always gave credit were it was due, but when asked at the end of the interview, if he liked him, no reply, because he absolutely hated being beaten by anyone.
Dartitis was the cruellest of blows for him, but i always said being the winner he was, it played a big part in him not being able to let the dart go correctly, it was all in
his head, and he knew it..would have been good if he was alive long enough to see Taylor retire, since he was there at the beginning of his career..

Re: Random Dart Stuff
Bristow's performance in that game is the nearest I've seen anyone come to winning a semi-final through sheer will power alone. Such a remarkably intense match

That's the game where he did the 141 and got in Taylor's face?

Re: Random Dart Stuff
- https://dartsplanet.tv/eric-bristow-how ... y-cockney/We were recently visited by a very senior figure in the darts business. As the conversation flowed our guest happened to glance at the ‘Hall of Fame’ and asked why each player was there. We soon arrived at the largest photo; this signed early 1980’s shot, of The Crafty Cockney, signifies the invention, and perfection, of the player package.
To my great surprise, the reply came “Yes, but was he really that good?”.
Whoever the senior figure was, they must be clueless about darts. Des Jacklin possibly?

Re: Random Dart Stuff
Hi all!
Just a short question.. Throwing both on steel and soft boards, steel set 25g, soft set 18g. I am using the steel set with short stems and standard flights. Because of the weight difference, my throwing action is very different. Can i solve this problem somehow? E.g. using long stems on the soft tip darts or something else?

Re: Random Dart Stuff
You can get conversion tips so you can use your soft tip set on a steel tip board. Or try a lighter steel set that's more close to your soft darts in dimensions.peshark wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 11:47 am Hi all!

Re: Random Dart Stuff
The home darts thing has been getting a lot of attention.
The BBC Radio 5 Live daily maths question just now is about FALLON. She needs 90 to win the match and hits T20 first dart.
With trebles NOT allowed, in how many different ways can she score 30 with one or two darts to win?

First dart can be D1-D14 - 14 choicesRogg wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 4:38 pm The home darts thing has been getting a lot of attention.

Or single 2-20 - 10 choices
Or straight into D15.
Or she can miss the board and hit D15 second dart - right?

And Jetze Jan:
Live Darts from Germany. The 16 Super League players will battle it out over 4 weeks of action, with 8 players going through to the finals. The winner of the finals qualifies for the PDC WC. Live on PDC.tv. Schindler and Marijanovic won't play.

Re: Random Dart Stuff
So, an idea I came up with a while back, play around with the editor in Football Manager and create virtual darting competitions that are obviously more accurate and realistic than chucking dice around. Turn the FA Cup into the World Champs, the CLoF into the CLoD, the works. Of course I'm chronically lazy and don't have a new version of FM to hand so I grabbed the free Champ Manager that's out there and put together a quick PL.
Figured I'd give Chizzy a reprieve and he repaid me in the only way he can.
Also the world champ's a dirty bastard.
Someone with the patience and autism geekiness of the Twitter stats people, go ahead and make this a reality. Go on.

woof, Potter. Top effort. You should build a squad of forum members and let it loose.Potter's Lake wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2020 2:35 pm So, an idea I came up with a while back, play around with the editor in Football Manager and create virtual darting competitions that are obviously more accurate and realistic than chucking dice around.
