If it's who I think he would certainly know.
Still don't believe itvwont be on tv somewhere.
So many channels showing so much shit someone will pick this tripe up.
A sponsor, that's a different matter.

As things stand it will be on Freesport unless the BDO pay the production costs for BT and C4. With no prize sponsor the whole event alone could cost the BDO over £250k.

Freesports arent going to pay a six figure sum to run a 9 day outside broadcast in this world or the fucking next, and no mug is going to pay it for them surely?

Course not but the BDO will have to pay production and prize costs. Production costs for BT and C4 are far higher than the shoddy Freesports standards

Their reserves wouldn't cover it at today's prices and prize levels.

Freesports don't film events themselves anyway, they take the feeds of others.

I think there's enough left for one with cheap production.

It doesn't bode well

State on this prize fund for a Lakeside ranking event!!!

https://dartsnews.com/prize-fund-breakd ... h-classic/

Same event was offering a £2k winners cheque only three years ago...

That's horrendous.

You'd have to get to the last 4 to cover any costs.

That's getting on for an insult. Amateur events barely struggling along seems to be an ongoing theme at the moment.

Meanwhile the ever sage BDO intends to "revitalise the professional game"...

Wasn't that the Scottish event where they had like 38 entries a week before the deadline a few years ago, and had to beg for walk-ups?

Ah, yeah, 2014: http://www.tsod.tv/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14342

Ended up just shy of 100 entries apparently, and didn't do any better the next year: http://tsod.tv/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15141

No surprise that the prize fund has gotten reduced since then, the entry fees didn't even cover the winner's cheque.

I actually feel sorry for the pub players who have a go at this. Pathetic prize money
