Re: 2016 PDC World Darts Series Thread
Presumably the invites were given out before the World Cup. Hopefully Hong Kong can unearth another player before next year's World Cup.

I think Painter had a broken bone in his foot shortly after 2004 final. Didn't play at all from March to June according to Darts Database.sennafan24 wrote:Makes sense. I remember there being a buzz around Painter after the 2004 Worlds. He broke his leg just after, and there was a massive feature on it in The Sun (or perhaps the Mirror)Justin Credible wrote:
no...but you must understand rankings were different
Lloyd was the second most successful player, he won a major that year, plus he was world #1 I think due to the ranking system in place.
Painter was however a higher ranked player than today, maybe he was as high as 3rd possibly
I always associate Lloyd's peak with 2005, as during the first Premier League, he was Taylor's main rival. I suspect he kicked on before then.
He was seeded 7th for the 2005 World Championship, presumably would have been ranked higher had he played the whole year.

No. The 7/25 available on the accumulator though wasn't really tempting. I almost put a treble on the handicaps but Barney would have ruined it first game so glad I didn't.Cooking with Sanchez wrote:Have any locals won matches yet this year?

I thought they learned from the BDO that it doesn't matter how long it takes to get through a day of darts

Lam loooks damn good, just not consistent enough. lots of high power scoring but too much low scores included.

Chizzy atrocious on the doubles today, he's lucky to get Mckenzie who seems to be plagued by dartitis but it's not looking as bad as it was at the world cup
